one thing i know about these game threads is that even though we've won four in a row i wouldn't be able to tell from reading it here. talk about knee-jerk reactions. i was nervous as hell in that 4th quater but one play, one quarter, or even this game doesn't make a season. even if we had blown them out it wouldn't make a difference come next game and had we lost it due to a bad fourth it doesn't mean we have to trade every player. i like our team and sans the last quarter i think they've been playing the way i've always dreamed a rockets team could play for the last five years.

sit back and enjoy a truely good, fun team and stop getting so bent out of shape.

    That's a good point hooroo.

Just to add to Charvo's point remember, at half-time, T-Mac admitted that he didn't completely have his legs for this game, and it showed at the end. He couldn't get anything under his shots and was a non-factor, shooting wise. It might have been a disaster to try and use him on a hot player, especially that is as big and as athletic as Odom.

I agree BigM, this team is fun to watch, and I'm not worried about the future. They have work to do but this team is just fine. Hard to complain about a team that has one 22 of their last 32 games. But the way they almost blew today's game, on national T.V., against the Lakers, without Kobe, and with the Kobe lovefest going on on the side line, if we had lost? *Shiver*.

i see your point, this was way more nerve wracking then your average game, i could barely handle kobe's arrogant little smirk. i don't know what i would have done if the lakers actually pulled it off. i think abc might have interviewed kobe because obvioulsy he led their comeback.

I would just like to apologize to everybody here. I was cursed as a small child and was given a magic ability to cause the Rockets to lose just by watching. I watched the Minnesota game till just past halftime and then taped the rest and went to bed. I taped this game and then started watching it at the beginning of the 4th quarter. My plus-minus, as you can see, is about -15 points.

Fortunately I turned away from the screen during the last 4 free throws.

Sura didn't get one assist in 4th Q, sometimes after he drives he should really think about passing the ball underneath to the big guys. He's like Francis there. Also on one play near the end, Sura hesitated to pass the ball to Yao when Yao gained good position under the basket, resulting a blocked shot and 24 sec violation from outside.

I'm not hating Sura, he's one of my favorate players on Rockets, but he can improve his drive and dish skill, not just pass to outside.

Funny, Will...my girlfriend has the same curse, so she says. Everytime she starts watching the game, for some reason or another the Rockets seem to also start losing. She's given up watching all together now.

That was a close one. We really broke down defensively and offensively in the 4th. Odom caught fire and we really didn't have an answer for him.

Luckily we won, a loss could have set us back quite a bit.

Whew! The Rockets just averted the most disastrous loss of the season. That was close! Kobe's little smirk, I just wanted to punch him. And Luke Walton, I can't stand the Lakers. Instead, this is the kind of win that can make a season. The Rockets are rising in the West. The Mavs are next!

If the Rockets had some one like Odom on this team! What would they be like? But they are doing great without him. Keep rolling, I love it!

Nice flight home Kobe, one point loss! The Rockets will beat you by more when you get back!

The Lakers shot 48% for the game. From watching I would have guessed something in the 75-80% range. I didn't think they missed in the second half. Good grief, what a cliff hanger!

Didnt watch the game but GREAT WIN.

Funny that the game was saved by the two most hated rockets, sura and yao.... :D .

Sad to say, JVG rockets never has a chance to beat Rudy T lead lakers. Rudy T is 2-0 against his beloved rockets!!!

Btw, that's the diff between shaq and yao, close game near the end, yao was still in the game unlike shaq he will probably bench by his coach in this stituation. Yao migh not be clutch by at least he can make his free throws....

A win is win either a by a point or 20.
I thought Howard finally figure out his role after last 2 games. Man, we need Cato back. Howard doenst defend at all. If he gets beat, he just quit. At least take that foul, dont expose Yao like that.
Did Tracy get hurt on the back in the 4th, because he was not looking for shots at all. He must be hurt. That was not Tracy.
Yao overall played well, two clutch free throws. Down the strech, he missed a couple of shots, and indecisive. I was glad he put himself together the last shot, and went to it strong. Nobody's going to tough him if he will himself to the hole like that. Odom is Yao lite in that regard.

    1) Cato would have had a much harder time guarding a player like Odom.

    2) The Lakers were doing anything and everything to make sure TMac didn't beat them. Tmac did what he is supposed to do... get the ball to other players in places that they can succeed and open.

    3) Yao didn't play indecisive. When he got the ball in the 4th, he either passed it out to an open man or made move to get a good shot. They just didn't fall. In fact, he was VERY decisive and aggresive at the end which led to the winning free-throws.

I which some posters would stop trying to find anything and everything negative when there was a win. The Lakers are a hard team for the Rockets to match up with and the one player (Odom) they have the hardest time with went off in the second half. The Rockets did some things that squandered the lead, but the Rockets found a way to win at the end. A sign of a very good team.

What pathetic is punk like you.
You are not a Rocket fan regardless of your about face when they pulled out the win.

I've just finished watching the game for the 2nd time and you are absolutely wrong.
The Rockets did not look lost at the end. They ran the plays just fine. Howard could have been awarded 4 FTs at the end and Sura did not not happen to fall, he was clearly blocked ... so on and so forth ...

You don't know jacks about BB and don't call yourself a fan, fans don't trash their team the way you do.
