Enough of the Gordon as a starter debate. Team is doing just fine.
Let's rewatch the beat down and rape on the Lakers.

 

Hopefully we get our revenge against OKC Friday. Mayyyybe Oladipo doesn't hit everything again.

Great chance to get the 3rd seed with the Clippers getting blown out by the Warriors at home.

 

Before Bev came back, the Rockets starting 5 of Harden, Gordon, Ariza, Anderson and Capela was the second highest rated 5 man squad in the NBA. That was when they are still getting used to new players, a new coach, and a new system. Harden's numbers were better then because he had more firepower in the starting lineup. We are still VERY VERY GOOD. I am NOT unhappy. lol

Bev has definitely helped this team. I wouldn't DARE say otherwise. I like Bev. I'm also sure that Gordon playing with Bev instead of Ennis helped him more as well. Plus the team is also starting to know each other better as more games are played. They will get even better I think. That's just my opinion as a fan though.

 

I just love that we are fun to watch. I really enjoy this team.

We have a top 2 MVP Player. 6th man of the year so far.

If we can get Anderson to step up his role on the offensive end on a regular basis..... I like where this is going! Bench is getting comfortable.

 

I think it's pretty clear that we gelled on that last road trip.

First, the start the petition thread was a "joke". If I really wanted that to happen, I know how to get thread starting privileges, or I would ask someone quietly to do it. Starting a thread about it ISN'T that important to me. I'm having a discussion about it now. I called you as being pissy about it because it seems to upset you that someone has an opinion that you don't agree with, that would maybe help the team get better. It's not a hate opinion. Many people want Dekker to get more minutes, or Trez, or even KJ. So I want Gordon to start. What's the big deal? What's wrong with talking about it on a forum to discuss Rocket's basketball?

 

Harden didn't lead the team in points, rebounds, or assists and we still win by 39? So this is what it feels like to have help.

 

Gordon is the best pure shooter we've had in a very, very long time. AB had one spectacular year shooting. Kevin Martin was decent but his shot was fugly and he wasn't very good at creating separation to get his shot off like Gordon.

 

Agree to disagree on that. Gordon hasn't played 34 mpg in 5 seasons. There's a reason for that. Yes its fluke injuries, but its so much that he's changed his playing style. That's not the greatest sign of trusting his own health.

Plus Gordon was already a starter this season, he already got that trial. He did decent, but not enough to suggest 25 PPG with the Durants and Lebrons of the league.

Thats nice I wouldn't mind that. Its not a slight on Gordon at all or on wanting this. But a bit too optimistic I think

 

Can AGREE on that. In playoffs you super tighten the rotation and increase minutes of your best players.

We'll need Gordon to play the Klay Thompson role bombing away going against the best, raising his game to All-Star level. And he's one of the few on the team with that ability on any given night.

 

You wouldn't even know the rockets played tonight looking at ESPN's NBA home page... nary a mention to be found outside the ticker up top.

 

I was about to say -- EG's demeanor seems exactly the same as always. He has never been particularly excitable. I remember chuckling at how incredibly "meh" he seemed in the interviews right after he signed.

 

We definitely agree on this and his role. That's my reason for wanting him to start, so that they can get off to even better starts with his shooting, as Bev passes up many shots and teams are starting to not play him for those 3 pointers. I think him starting would get the rotations ready better for the playoffs, but if he never starts and MDA gives him 34 minutes at least, preferably 36 minutes or more during the playoffs; then I will be happy with that. If MDA still plays him around 31 minutes a game during the playoffs, then I don't think we will reach our full potential as a team.
