I was just watching ESPN & they ran the final minutes of the Rockets/ Lakers game. IDK who the game announcer was, but his final excited comments were "Game over! Game over! The Lakers have just pooped their BIG BOY Pants!!" I almost fell outta ma chair!

You could also say that if Kobe made 2 more shots they would have won. Or if he didn't get hung on a screen on that one play, thereby allowing an open corner three for Douglas.

Howard deserve some responsibility, but he hit 5 FTs during Hack-a-Dwight while the Lakers simultaneously gave up 9 points in those possessions. The Lakers defense is just as much to blame, IMO.

nice observations...Howard gave them 50% of those 5 possesions, and that is exactly what they would have scored without hackadwight cause they were shooting 50% from the floor...

Only thing that could explain it is that he is very very young. Especially his rants on Chris Pau shows it.

You couldn put any young guard on this list in my opinion. Kyle Lowry & Dragic when they were younger were pretty inconsistent.

I actually like chris paul:grin: btw I watched stephen a smith on espn saying Phil Jackson wouldn't take over Clippers because their superstar is only CP3 that is only a small PG and that's not a decisive factor for winning the title...

Of course, you need like 2-3 star plus some decent role players usually to win the championship. Parker, Duncan, Ginobili -Garnett, Allen, Pierce - Gasol, Kobe - Lebron, Wade, Bosh

How about a shout-out and appreciation for Carlos? The guy played solid D on Kobe towards the end...I think his D was on point from a guy only known for his offense

I think this game showed that Harden really is worthy of a max contract and is the right guy to become the Rox's 1st option.

Everybody has bad nights, but the difference between a true franchise guy from a pretender is that a true star will have very little bad nights (ex. KD) or he'll do other stuff to offset his bad shooting (ex. LBJ).

Harden certainly belongs in the latter category. Even in the midst of a horrific slump he didn't stop going to the line, and he kept on trying to be aggressive and make plays for other people, in fact if you watched the last few mins a couple of those plays made by TD and Smith were due to Harden driving and dishing, or getting a reb and passing it. The end result was that all-in-all the Rox outscored Lakers by 3 pts with him on the floor, even if he shot 3-19. That's amazing, imho.

Yes, though with Hack-a-Dwight the Rockets had the added benefit of stopping the clock while they were behind. That always helps down the stretch.

Sampson made a smart move by keeping our players on the floor and not have any subs

LMAO! I'm in Southern CA for school and Lakers fans are probably the most annoying fans out of the whole NBA. Glad to see them get put in their place.

And if Harden was 4-19 the Rockets would have won. And if Kobe made the three pointer at the end the Lakers would have won. You can play the if game all you want, but the fact is, had Howard made three more free throws you have no idea how the rest of the game would have turned out.
