I agree somewhat, but you cant mess with the chemistry at that point, those five guys were jelling so well and had so much momentum there was no reason to stop it, they could not be stopped in those couple of minutes, they were completly unstoppable, and they made so many great defensive plays.

The most stupid move is to put Yao in at the end. Rox were playing great defence and Head was red hot. Feed the hot hand!!!

6 freethrow attempts in a row and only 2 made. the game was lost before yao was put back in.

Not a chance. Phil's plan already cracked our starting lineup. But he didn't expect VG to play small ball (cuz VG's stubborn). On the other hand, VG has no idea of how to play laker's starters. He changed batches and batches of configuration in vain.

This is what I am afraid of...........that tonight was the beginning of the slide down the standings, rankings, and our chance of going deep into the playoffs could be in jeopardy b/c of the uncertainty of T-Bac

    I scared :(

Do you really need this game to believe that? Without either one, this team won't go far. No sane Rockets fan would argue about it, although it's subject to much debate who is more capable of leading the missing-a-superstar team to enough victories for a playoff berth. It's a moot point now because TMac's future is pretty much in the air with his chronic back problem.

That's so common sensible it gets overlooked, right?

If anything, put Yao in as a decoy to keep feeding Luther. The only move I'da done would be bring in Battier, a guy that would blend in to whats going on and provide hustle. Anybody else would have interfered with the flow.

Also if it was noticed or not, the Lakers were outworking the Rockets to get the big lead and doing it using a fast pace. It was when the young quicker legs came in to match the pace and the Lakers slowed down a little is when they got back in the game. Remember, this is a regular season game. I don't think you'll see John Lucas closing out any game 7s in the postseason.

    No, God is Luther's head!

Or another alternative universe: Clapton is God!

How did the Lakers defense on Yao change in the third quarter? He scored only 5 points, after dominating in the first half.

I agree with that. Why people say we should put yao earlier. yao totally lost in the second half.

    Shutdown the passing route.
    Double team.
    z defense.
Kwame and Andrew Bynum are good.
Kobe always try to grab the ball from him.
This laker team has a full arsenal to neutralize Yao. And they did it with more intense as time pass by coupled with Yao being exhausted.

That's why he is a NBA coach while you are not; and he had NINE rings while JVG has ZERO!
