It is most important that JVG sits Alston down and reminds him that he isn't the second coming of Tracy McGrady! It would be murder to watch if Alston tries to take over the game.

FYI, Lakers get the no. 1 spot in Steve Kerr's ranking:

In other news, Steve Kerr actually gives Yao Ming props!!

Agreed. I don't mind Alston taking a few more shots, but it should be nowhere near the pace that Tmac takes shots.

Tomorrow will be a really interesting night: How do the Rox play w/ Tmac out the entire game; and will Bonzi play!?!? More twists than an episode of Law & Order!

Skip- 5-25 on 1 of 12 shooting from three-point range.
If I see that boxscore tommorrow, I'd laugh and cry at the same time.

Scratch that first showdown of the season between Rockets swingman Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant.

McGrady, still suffering from back spasms, has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Toyota Center.

He is officially listed as day-to-day.

"He's still stiff and sore," said Keith Jones, the Rockets' head trainer. "We treating him with heat and with a vacuum decompression unit that we got for him over the summer. He's also taking anti-inflammatories."

McGrady had to leave Saturday night's game against the Wizards in Washington with 6:54 left in the fourth quarter. He was hurt as he jumped to try to block a shot by Gilbert Arenas.

huge game tomorrow. Lakers just beat SPURS at home and now htey believe they are the BEST. We need to nail this one and then afford to lose one at their home. Too bad TMAC can not show up. Big man and Big HEAD, carry us a WIN! Go Rockets, show time!

Lakers win. Yao goes off but same result as last season end-of-year Rockets. Yao goes for 30+ points but Rockets still lose. Either Odom or Kobe (or even both *shudder) goes off.

This year is different. Shane and Luther will shoot many 3s. Guys, yell loudly and boo loudly. Let me hear you in Toronto. Rox wins by 10

I worry about Odom and Koby, but I am not too pessimitic.
The lakers are not a great 3 point shooting team, JVG's defensive strategy may have a chance. The game will depends on how our 3 point shooting performs.

    Poor Yao.

If we win, people will say that is what he should do.

If we lose, people will say: well, yao still can not carry the team,he sucks. :(

But that can be said for any superstar!

And so far that hasn't really been the case this year for Yao. He has bad games where we end up losing and nobody says anything. It's not really a big deal. We'll see how he responds in Fridays rematch - the game I'll be attending

Good insight, man. You seriously give all of us newbies a bad name. If you wanna tear the team apart maybe you should actually contribute to the thread rather than throw out some tacky 'one liner' that seems like the easiest thing to say at the time. I really don't think these Lakers are a .700 team like their record shows. I think Yao will go off and this will be a close one...

We should have a little faith, Yao will take this team on.
Is this team really different from last season, we will see after this game.
Bonzi, you should try harder, come on buddy, I admire you.

Odom triple double. Just hope Chuck Hayes has more than 6 fouls on Odom.

Battier on Kobe. Kobe said he twisted his ankle and still got 34 vs Bowen and the Spurs. Just hope Battier holds Kobe under 40.

No T-Mac against Lakers ---> no win.

Don't forget to take some pics for us. :D

    Good thing is:

We are going to meet some good teams during this time without Tmac. It is OK because we can not win for sure even we have Tmac.

But then again with Luther Head and Rafer Alston running the show in H-town might be a different breed.
