Let the other team shoot their wad in the 1st as our team wakes/warms up. By the halftime, a plan or course is set, and it's a matter of executing. Not a bad plan, as long as you don't get down by 20 in the first quarter.

It's one thing to complain about and criticize any player's mistakes, it's pure hatred when ppl start saying stuff like bench him or he needs to go back to the D-league. Even I criticized Lin's TOs today, but damn some of these people, for whatever reason, just simply hate Lin. True ROX fans would not stoop so low imo.

Well he makes a point, you gotta confront it. Like how come the Lakers, when they lost Elgin Baylor in 1971, begin to have the best team in Laker history. I mean, the best, like 69-13, 33 win streak best? How come the Lakers, with 4 hall of famers in one team in 2003, get whooped by the no name Detroit Pistons?

I am completely blown out of the water by this team. While I expected some wins, it’s the style of the wins that have this old man jumping up and down in front of the tube like a twenty year old.

Yup, and you notice how the opposing teams don't even play the foul game with us at the end of the 4th? We're way too ahead of them to even try!

I dont remember how much they pay Chris Paul, probably 2.5 time more than Lin's pay.

ok guys, chris paul is the best point guard in the nba. he has great chemistry with his teammates he makes them all better.

lin is a newbie with great potential who is still learning the nba game.

    I read that he's making $17.78 million in 2012. I'm guessing that's 2012-13, and not 2011-2012.

They are old and broken hall of fame players. Kobe had let defense slide. Howard is hurt. Gasol....all I can say is thank you David Stern for basketball reasons. Nash...even less defense.

So far this season, Harden is best SG. Period. Parsons looks like he'll be a good starter. Rockets bench is much better than Lakers bench.

    Hands down, yes.

As good as I believe Lin is, as much up side as I believe Lin has, the MOST you can realistic hope for Lin is that he becomes as good as CP3.

Given a choice between CP3 and a player you *HOPE* can become as good as CP3, you take the guaranteed player.

Lin has up side. If he *ever* becomes as good or close to as good as CP3 it will take YEARS. Multiple years is a LONG time in professional sports. He might Never reach that level. His ceiling might not be that high. He could suffer injury. Or his personal motivation could even lag at some point (I doubt it, but you never know what prolonged fame and money can do to someone).

Heck, he could even find a personal Yoko Ono and lose his way.

I'll still take the #1 PG in the NBA at the age of 27 Guaranteed over a solid young player with an uncertain but potentially high ceiling, whether that ceiling may or may not be top 5 for the position.

You normally provide very insightful analysis, but I would disagree on this one. I would totally gamble on taking Lin over CP3. Has the potential of becoming a Montana type of player. Besides, Montana won the super bowl in his 2nd year. Also, are the clippers really that good? They got swept by an aging Spurs, and it's possible they could do it again. Plus, the value of CP3 is way too expensive at 17 plus million per year. Lin on the other hand, has high potential, low price, extremely intelligent and keeps the team chemistry, though CP3 does as well. If you had a blackjack and saw the dealer have an ace, would you gamble to get 3/2 payout? Of course, the payout is better. I think on Lin, you gamble for the possible better payout.

Except Jeremy Lin's Yoko Ono will be white.

CP3 is not leaving the Clippers so maybe we just have to accept that fact please.

    Very good points.

Of course, if we had to trade Lin, I would rather just move Harden to PG and use all the money that it would cost to pay CP3 and get someone amazing who can play without the ball.

That would be the makings of a championship team for sure.

If we moved Harden to PG, then quite a few opposing PGs would kill us because Harden is a defensive liability at this point. Could you imagine him trying to guard some of the quicker PGs? Also having to defend the quicker guards who make him less effective offensively and his TO rate would skyrocket.

I kind of feel sorry for Kobe. He is capable playing team ball like the first half last night but for whatever reason he always gets into chuck mode in the 2nd half. Their offense was much better without DH and PG and only to get chuck away by Kobe. There's no doubt in my mind he wants to win and he has the capability to do so. But this year is unlike 10 years ago when Shaq was getting rebound whenever Kobe missed a shot. Clutch is overrated. Everyone was bashing Lebron for passing to open man when game is on the line 2 years ago. Now they are eating their words. When do you ever see Spurs having a designated superstar chucking up shot in the last 1 min of games? An NBA role player still has higher percentage shot if they're open than superstar jacking up acrobatic final buzzer. I hope Houston doesn't go to that direction just because Harden is an offensive beast.

Why is it that every GT ends up in similar fashion?

All homers do is Lin, Lin, Lin!

Ridiculous thought. Montany is, at worst, the second greatest player at his position. Lin's potential is not near that.
