Agreed, to a degree. Didn't really watch the game, but based off the box score, we needed 40 minutes from Harden to beat an essentially Melo-less Knicks team?

That's ridiculous. We were without X starters, but they didn't have their best player.

 

Are you serious? Complaining about winning a game without three starters is ridiculous. They won. That's all that matters.

 

100% correct. Having 3 starters out hurts the Rockets a lot more than say the Spurs or Mavs who are extremely deep. Replacing defensive studs in Howard/Beverly with Black or DMo and Canaan is a significant downgrade, not to mention that it puts a lot more pressure on Harden to have a strong game every night. That the Rockets are 10-3 with these injury woes is quite the accomplishment, even if they were 7-6 I'd be pleased with their performance.

 

Wow some fans just can't enjoy a win to save their lives.. Joker always have something to complain about.. What you expect when you have 3 starters out with injuries?

We won and that's all that matters.

Melo, prepare to be enlightened

 

The Rockets are gonna need Dwight against Sactown and the Clippers. They can win without Bev as long as Canaan is making shots and not turning the ball over, but those teams will kill us inside if Dwight doesn't suit up.

That being said, props to the Rockets for riding their defense to these last two wins. McHale still has major deficiencies coaching this team on offense, but give him credit for making them play defense every night(well, other than the blowout at Memphis). What's remarkable is that they've managed to keep this up without Dwight for several games and Bev and T-Jones for most of the season.

 

OT: Dwight and Canaan seem really close. In fact Dwight appears to be a father figure to all these rooks and 2nd year players.

You can see them having a good time during the Dorsey Shaq'tin a foo moment when he got rejected by the rim.

 

I'm going to Milwaukee to watch the Rockets there, it would be very nice to have Dwight back for that game. And the only reason Black looked decent tonight, as someone said here, was because the Knicks do not have anyone inside besides a Stoudemire with half knee in each leg.

I didn't say that the Rockets were an elite team without 3 starters, that's dumb. Did you even read what I typed? I said, no one cares if the Rockets have injuries. Just because your best players are injured doesn't mean you forfeit that game. You still have to win, elite or not. When they tally up the record they don't give them a mulligan if Rockets were at half strength, it still counts.

Of course I'm happy with the win! No one is complaining about the win just the execution. Rockets have to face adversity and kick it's ass! If you guys think the Rockets can win a Championship you have to expect more of them. There might come a time in the playoffs (if we make it) when the scrubs will have to win the game. Now that Rockets best players are out, this should be the time when they foster those good habits of winning games.

Fans shouldn't be relived that Rockets win games without starters they should expect it. All this talk about Rockets are short handed but we have seen it multiple times that they can compete.

 

how many games is that this season that Harden has won us in the last 1-2 minutes? 4? 5?
