WTF....... watching this game i want to say every curse word that i can think of and once my limited vocabulary is exposed i wanna start creating new curse words.

First off... I thought Tracy McGrady was suppose to be an intelligent basketball player... instead we have him turning the ball over on a critical play...

Then I was like ok well Yao is chinese so he must be smart... so he goes ahead and turns the ball over as well......

When your two best players cause two BIG turnovers during key stretches of the game it really makes you wish you still had steve francis and cuttino mobley... at least they played with passion and emotion and heart...

Ok i'm just venting (I think T Mac plays with heart as well as Yao but they just dont show it)..... BUT COME ON... this game should of been over by the 3rd quarter... honestly watching the knicks guard Mcgrady and Yao I was like this team is an awful defensive team... and instead of having that killer instinct the ROckets let them back in.

I dont disagree with JVGs defensive philosophy... he basically said let kurt thomas beat us. The NBA is all about picking your poison... we chose Kurt over crawford and marbury for most of the night. In the playoffs JVG chose Karl Malone over Kobe and Shaq I have to agree with him there as well...

The three very big problems i see are as follow.

1.) Point guard play..... we desperately need someone to penetrate inside other then Mcgrady.

2.) A bruiser power forward. Somebody please that just wants to do the dirty work and rebound and play D.... because Mo and Howard just aren't gonna cut it.

3.) Some emotion... I know people talk about how yelling and pounding chests is not Yao's and Mcgrady's ways but we need someone out there to be the teams cheerleader somebody to say come on guys lets not loose or something...

Its still early and this team needs time to gel still... i say if we can some how finish the month at 500 we'll be alright....dont panic just yet.

Oh yea and this is just another of my pet peeves..... Mcgrady you are one of the most athletic guys in the nba and u have a point guard in jamal crawford guarding you.... and your shooting jumpers....WTF???

I'm starting to believe you. The only real success Van Gundy can claim is a trip to the Finals from the Eastern Conference during the lockout year. They entered the playoffs as a lower seed barely over (maybe even under) .500 and worked their way thru one of the weakest conferences in NBA history (that year). JVG was seriously exposed tonight.

He didn't quit on the Knicks they he brought them back to a .500 from several games below it. They really started clicking and then he drop the bomb on them. I guess he felt that after he got the team back to .500 he paid his dues.

I expected this to happen b/c we trade half of our time for half of a team that was winning only 21 one last season. Loser will always be a loser.

We are getting out-rebounded almost every single game. 50 reb NY to 41 reb Rockets. That's 9 possessions of extra plays. We deserved to lose. We need a rebounder.

Could we just have tossed the ball in the air and let the time run out?

Jeez folks, it's only the 10th game. Look at it this way: At least we're not New Orleans...

As JVG said in the postgame press conference: The Rockets are getting exactly what they deserve for their sloppy play.

Yao needs to work on his pick-and-roll defense. But we exchanged SF, Cat, Cato for T-Mac. T-mac needs to work on his game defensively and offensively.

There were at least 2 bad plays today by T-mac in the 4th quarter. One is the behind-back pass to nobody, and the other is the bad pass to Crawford and T-mac got mad at himself and did not go back to defend. It seems that T-mac is a little bit careless with the ball.

In return, we had one of the ugliest finals in NBA history, not becasue of Rox, but how the Knicks played. Remember that series? just painful.

I didn't really feel the conditioning was too much of a factor in this game. Off the top of my head, I think Yao miss three straight jumpshots within the paint and when he got close to the basket, the double came so he was forced to pass the ball. Now we can say conditioning is the reason why he missed the jumpers but Yao's jumper has been way off this year. You can't even count on him to make those open 15 foot jumpers any more. Let's just hope it's the arm brace that is hurting his jumpshot, and not his conditioning.

Seems NY just wanted this game more.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't feel the urgency on the Rockets part in the closing minutes, both offensively and defensively.

I don't say much in this forum... But FIRE JEFF VAN GUNDY RIGHT NOW FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO KEEP A 10 POINT ****ING LEAD WITH THE ONLY 2 PLAYERS ON YOUR TEAM WORTH HALF A **** ROTTING AWAY ON THE BENCH?!?!?!?!?

You are the most pathetic ****ing coach ever.

How many more times were we going to leave Thomas wide open for that J on that stupid pick and roll?????

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MORE EMBARRASING BASKETBALL SHOWING BACK TO BACK BY A SUPPOSED CONTENDING TEAM. Which leads me to believe we are overhyped and nothing but ****.

Bring back Rudy... Bring back Steve... Bring back Cat... Bring back Cato... Bring back Moochie... Hell Bring back Mirsad ****ing Turcan, anything is better than watching this horrid joke of a team try and put away **** squads like Atlanta and New York.

Edit - **** you too Yao, get a ****ing rebound.

Last year at this time: 6-4
    This year...................: 4-6

    Major cause for concern.......no.
    Potential problem if unaddressed......yes.

Are people overreacting......maybe, but we're Rocket fans, we tend to overreact.

Pat Riley was the coach of that team.

As for JVG and his Finals run... if you remember, Allan Houston made a last second lay-in to win Game 5 in the first round in Miami. Had that shot not gone in, JVG was going to be fired, for sure.
