We'll see what McGrady is made out of when he returns. I hope he feels compelled to play within Adelman's system [within reason... it would have been nice to see him be a cog in the machine versus Boston and then take over the last few minutes when we were growing stagnant and scared... who knows, maybe that's a win in that case] like everyone else has these last 9 games [starting my count w/ the Denver game]. If he does, and can do what he's athletically capable of doing within the framework of the offense [except when he's got it rolling and can take a game over - he's a superstar, afterall], then the sky's the limit! If he hasn't taken notice of the teams overall improved offensive play while he's been out and can't respect that by jacking up a bunch of ill advised fadeaway jumpers as opposed to keeping the ball moving... then we're in trouble.
Do not agree. Although the photos are few , but after u read some articles , you'll find AB almost EVERYWHERE !
I don't buy #2 and #3. 4th quarter is most critical and it is victory that it accounts, nothing to do with the respection of JVG. Adelman does not trust new player. He is as stubborn as JVG. What happens to Carl Landry? Used him once and then totally forget about him. If James and/or Francis played good, Brooks will never get a minute.
Can Books join in the Allstar game of rookie with Scola? I hope he can hold this condition and take some PT in the lineup in the rest games.
Aaron Brooks is called "小黑豆"(which means a small black bean)in china we love him very much! maybe he is next Tony Park
Ever played in a playoff game? No. Well, imagine a big rivalry regular season game and ratchet in up triple fold. In game 7 that year, when T-Mac came out he was exhausted because, he was having to do everything. He literally left everything on the court that game. That's why he was emotionally drained and Van Gundy knew it! Why do you think when Kobe's Lakers had the Suns up 3 to 1 it was only to meltdown in 7. These guys are human and without adequate rest and support, they can wilt under pressure too. All championship teams have one thing in common, they have a supporting cast that picks up one another. It's either balanced scoring or an unsung hero steps up in addition to the superstars. Up to recent, where has that consistent 3rd or 4th scorer been for the Rockets? Even last year, Howard was a no-show vs Utah in the playoffs, a major reason why we lost the series. T-Mac and Yao though not spectacular were consistently good but, no one picked up their game. Largely, no one helped them out thus, they tired the Jazz picked up momentum and we couldn't stop Boozer when it counted. We couldn't stop Okur when it counted! We couldn't stop Deron Williams when it counted! Understand my POV now, grasshopper! Van Gundy pulled T-Mac because when you're down by 30 ... 40, you're not coming back and winning that game. Game 7 or no game 7. T-Mac gets a mulligan in that game. Better dig harder for placing blame for that one!
He'll probably be in the rookie vs sophomore game during the all star weekend but, best case scenario is an alternate for the all star game perhaps.
I wasn't able to watch the game so I wanted to ask... how in the hell did Nate Robinson get so many points?
He had 5 3 pters and basically couldn't miss. I think he was 8-11 overall and I believe 5-7 from beyond the arc That plus, an outbreak of ridiculous offensive rebounding by the Bricks was the only reason this was a game!
Once we went up big, our defense started to suck again. We should have never let them come back in the game. Lucky that this was the Knicks and not a better team. Could have been a tough loss but it was Knicks and we thank them for that.
Thanks! I'll take em if he's earnin them. I just didn't want to hear that AB was getting burned on the defensive side. Besides.. I guess someone has to score on that team.
Because it's Knicks so it means nothing? Some people might forget that this is the back to back win after the Magics game. In fact, there's no game that 'we should win'. Every game, you need to focus and fight, or you'll lose it, no matter who is on the other side. I'm happy that the players finally figured it out before it's too late. That's the important thing here. And this win is as important for the Rockets as any victory against teams like Spurs, Mavs, Suns, etc. It doesn't need to 'mean something' to the fans, as long as it means that the players are keeping fighting and the team is getting better position in the race. If you can not see any brightness from a win, fine. That's your problem, not the team's.
Don't forget Zach Randolph was suspended for yesterday's game. He was fully fresh today and raring to go... hence his career rebound stat.
Easy there "seaweed". I don't think people are going to dismiss this win as "nothing" or "worthless." However, you do have to realize that a win against the Knicks at home does mean a little less than a win against a quality (or even average) opponent... especially if you're looking for accurate signs of this team being able to eventually be the playoff/elite team people felt they'd be at the start of the season. (let alone, a team that's supposed to finally get out of the 1st round this year). That being said, there were PLENTY of positives that you can take away from this game, even though it was against the Knicks: 1. Yao toughin it out and finally having a game of 30+. Didn't see much high post at all (which is a good thing), and Yao looked to be dusting off some 2006-2007 go-to moves that we hadn't seen in awhile. He did, however, get stripped/turned it over a little bit too much in the second half, but I still liked the aggressiveness and less hesitation when making his moves. These are the games he HAS to dominate... especially with Tracy out. He'll still have his problems against the Golden States and Phoenix's who play small ball against him... but when teams play him straight up like Orlando and NY did, going off for 30+ shouldn't be a cause for celebration... it should be expected. 2. Aaron Brooks - His stellar performance cannot be dampened simply because we "played the Knicks", mainly because the shots he was getting are going to always be available on a team with Yao and T-mac... namely, hitting the long-range jump shot with consistency, and then being able to break down the defense when the Knicks finally decided to collapse on him. Then, there's just his flat-out speed which is truly impressive. The only negative will be his defense... and we just have to bank on the other team not doing everything to try to exploit it (Marbury wasn't looking for his shot at all last night... but I'm not going to criticize a guy who's dad just died). 3. Scola - getting more comfortable each and every game. 4. Alston - While he clanked up a few long range shots, he seemed to "remember" that his recent resurgence is more due to him penetrating and finishing, rather than hitting the 3 ball... thus he made the adjustment, and started attacking in the 4th.
