I don't think Lin is the same caliber of player as Harden and have never said that. However, he does certain things better such as running the offense and playing defense. Also, the thread about the Stats to 1.1.2014 show that Harden isn't necessarily playing at the superstar level that he was performing at last season. That being said, it's one thing for Harden to get superstar treatment from a ref on a call... It's another for his own coach to give him preferential treatment over the rest of the team. The difference between McHale and JVG? When Houston hosted the Super Bowl years ago JVG treated all the guys the same, including superstar Stevie Franchise and forced them to catch a flight to Phoenix for practice for their upcoming game on Super Bowl Sunday. When Francis opted to skip the flight and party with his buddies instead at the Super Bowl, JVG suspended his superstar just as if it had been anyone else who had missed the flight. Based on your assertion, if you substitute McHale and Harden for JVG and Franchise in the story and McHale would let Harden go to the Super Bowl with no repercussions b/c Superstars get special treatment. And you know what? McHale probably would do something like that.
Harden's a Superstar and gets special treatment. Thus, it's ok for him to be lazy on D while the rest of the team can't slack off. Just ask CCM721 and all the other guys on here who support that theory...
The point is he's proven he can suck in the 3rd and help lead the team to victory in the 4th. Since when does it make sense to play a guy based on gut? Based on pure basketball, tell me how, does it make any sense to play Brooks and have him guard a guy who was 12/13 on 3's the last 2 games and has 6 inches on him? Beyond "went with his gut" which is even more nonsensical than earning the right to play. He got bailed out the Knicks are incompetent. How does your gut tell you to sit a guy who helped you win 2 games because of his 4th quarter play the last week or 2 for a guy who wasn't shooting well, and was asked to defend the other team's hottest player?
Hmmm...

J.R. McHale is the coach of the Rockets basketball team in case you forgot. His behavior toward our players is extremely important in determinig if we win or lose. We have not exceeded our win loss record of last year at this point despite adding the best rim defender in the NBA according to NBA stats. That worries me as well as his playing Harden for so many minutes a game. I feel Harden is showing the stress. McHale has to be held accountable for all his actions that effect the team. I am sorry you don't care why Mchale does things. This attitude ultimately hurts the team, as it leaves him on accountable for his actions. PS: I don't know what his hidden agenda is.Isn't that obvious.
Yes but that's when the bench guys playing in their place were playing well. Brooks was not playing well that game. 1-8 and horrible defense.
He's not looking at your precious data, he's looking at this... (though maybe in your eyes Lin was just on his way to a quadrouple double?) Secret agenda: win the game
Jocar, you must be a Philadephia lawyer. You listed a turn over and a blocked shot that happened in the 2nd quarter as happening in the 3rd. You also left out Lin's playing in the first half. You also left out what McHale said about Lin's playing in this Game. "He played very well and has been playing very well all year" Correct 3rd Quarter stats: 9;30 Lin missed shot 7:40 Lin Missed Shot 7:39 Lin Offensive rebound 7:39 Lin TO ? Lin Defensive rebound ? Lin Foul 3:44 Lin TO 3:35 Lin substituted (Brooks put in) Brooks Missed shot. Lin big screwups were two turn overs and one foul. Lin had two turnovers not three. No blocked shots in the third quarter. That happened in the 2nd quarter. I hope you are a lawyer. If you are not go into the field. Leaving out data that does not support your argument (McHales statement) and misleadingly including data (2nd Q data) that does support your argument is a cherished tactic of Lawyers.
Jocar why do you care so much about proving something on a sports forum on THE INTERNET!!! YOU'RE A LAWYER??
