They may be old. They may be weak. But no way they are undersized. Mutumbo is 7'2". Van Horn is 6'10". Kurt Thomas is 6'9". Doleac is 6'11". Harrington is 6'9". Pretty tall front court is you ask me.

K not undersized, but still old, slow, weak, and definitely not agressive.

FYI the Rockets vs Knicks game will be airing at 2 AM tonight on ESPN for those that want to record on TiVo or simply didn't catch the game at the regular air time.

Yao struggles more against quicker more athletic swarming defenses....

He does a lot better when he faces slower less mobile centers.

I think this is an improvement from last year when he was inconsistent against both types

Hey no need for sour grapes. I was just reporting an observation at that time. Other people can do whatever they freaking feel like. I might not be an SF-fanatic like you, I definitely don't hate him one bit, especially after the Memphis game.

Damn. No wonder TV reporters wear Kevlar these days.

    ooops i accidentally hit submit

But i think it would be scary to face yao in a series if i were an opposing team....he always seems to learn from his experiences...when their is a quick rematch.

"...The Rockets are 10-3 and have won eight in a row when Yao scores 20 or more points." (Associated Press) ... Is that sort of experience that is the extract of suffering (many times)? However, experience is a dim lamp, which only lights the one who bears it...

    Taylor/SF/Cat/Yao all play wonderful game!

But I only give my credit for Mark Jackson tonight! HE IS A REAL PG, A GREAT PG. I see the sunshine future of Rox from him!

Rockeks and Yao have problem to match up teams with quick atheletic power forward or center, this is the only place to improve thinking and comparing with last game.

Steve was really throwing up some garbage shots tonight. Whenever he got into the paint, he would jack up this ugly floating, fading shot that just never went in. Can the man just take a normal pull-up jumper without making it so difficult? Many times he had plenty of space to just take a simple jumpshot. As Clutch mentioned, the turnaround 20 footer was also ugly to watch. Steve needs to just work on his 3 point shot so he stops passing up open shots, only to dribble a few times and pull up for the more difficult 3.

His fast breaks are still among the worst in the league. One that comes to mind is the 3 on 1 where he decided to bowl right over the only defender (thankfully no charge was called, even though it was obvious) to take and make the very difficult shot.

Thank goodness for the great performance from our frontcourt tonight. If Yao is going to hit from that far out, then why not shoot those long shots?

Overall a good game. It helps prove that a big man offense is the most efficient and effective. When Yao shows up, that is.

    RocksMillenium:

Mobley doesn't always ignore Yao. Obviously, to say that is hyperbole.

But he does ignore him in situations where he should pass to him :). I thought it was pretty cleaer in the early 3rd quarter today.
