I'm arguing that he shouldn't have taken the layup...a play should have been setup to try and get a 3 first, then if that didn't work get the quickest basket. Maybe thats on Van Gundy, I don't know.

The thing about Steve is that this hasn't happened just once. He continues to try and take everything on with the game on the line. He is not the Michael Jordan that he sometimes thinks he is that can hit any shot with the game on the line.

Lastly, it doesn't make me happy to have Steve as the bad guy. No matter how boneheaded he can be I still love him on this team. I am a Rockets fan first though, and Steve needs to do whats best for the team.

This really is my last post to you.

On the YOF thing: You're wrong. I didn't call you one. I'm not backing off anything because I didn't do it. You misread me. The reason I said you knew nothing about the game is because the vast majority of your posts that I've seen have been about disparity in foul calls in games where it really wasn't an issue (Yao is not going to get calls on fadeaways. He just isn't. We ARE going to get called for hugging and hacking. We just are.). You can keep arguing this if you want, but I'm not going to. I've already gotten too far into this pissing match and it's no fun beating up on newbies.

On the cursing: I was wrong. It was the LA game. I was exaggerating when I said it was half your posts. It was closer to a third. In that thread you had 37 posts. 28 of those were nothing but ref bashing. You used bannable language in 11 of those posts. You said fvck 5 times, fvcking 2 times, motherfvcking 1 time, cocksvcking 4 times and you also said the refs sucked **** once.

I called you out about it and told you to stop on page 11. Then you started it up again in this thread. When I complained, you did it more to make your "point" that it was okay to do it. It isn't.

Stop doing it and you'll never hear another word from me about it. Keep doing it and you'll get banned. Your choice.

    Done with you.

My advise to you: mind your own business.

A good percentage of my posts, right. I have 1400+ post. How many did you read?

The laker game thread, besides me, how many other post were not about criticizing refs? More than half of the posts were calling out bad officiating.

Besides, in this thread, only one of my post had a word you have problem with. Just this one post cause you to call me out, and then I discussed the usage of these words with you, without using them in curses.

You don't see a problem with officiating because you simply hate the team as it is, which is shown by your post "who cares if we make playoff or not." And it is this hatred towards the current team cause you to be so angered about ref criticizing. You just don't see the constructive suggestions in people's posts.

You don't think Yao deserves better calls because you don't like him, which can be implied when you say "YOF's know nothing about the game". I am not a YOF, but I certainly don't believe all YOF's know nothing abou the game. I cann't imagine someone believe that unless he is somehow not found of Yao.

You started quoting rule book, but fail to present where in the rule book it says "*" or "v" or "!" subs are not allowed. You are backing off from this, and just admit it.

You say it is not personal, but you certainly took it personal after I questioned your credibility. I guess you just read posts selectively, and avoid hard questions presented to you, such as how suggesting playing Paghett during half time break proves that I know nothing about the game.

I don't want to hear from you either, because from what I see you haven't shown any knowledge of the game. In your way, I can say "you know nothing about the game".

I was at the game this afternoon and I thought it was great. Everytime we started chanting DEFENSE, they stepped up and had some big moves. They just didn't finish it.. :(

I don't understand why JVG doesn't play Padgett more. I've been wondering this for a while now... instead he plays Pike and Pike is still cold from the 3point line. His only specialty is the 3point shot, and without that, he's nothing. Yeah, he made one big 3, but that doesn't cut it. I've noticed that they don't pass Padgett the ball whenever he gets the chance to play [other games], even when he's wide open. But today, they finally did and he made some key shots. Totally got us in the ball game and got the crowd even more hyped up.

Yao, Steve and Jimmy got hacked several times, but NO CALLS. It pissed everyone off so much! It was fun yelling BRICK when Webber shot the ball. We just wanted to make him feel at home :D

You think this is fine and dandy?
    From the Lakers game thread...

**** the refs. 7-0 foul calls, 0-11 FT, all in favor of Lakers.

    **** the refs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell all the national audience what a group of ****ing morons these refs are.

prop to JVG. He almost rushed to strangle those baster refs.

    Refs are ****s**kers.

where is that ****ing foul? Shaq traveled and fell on floor. ****ing motherfvcker refs.

****! SF just got mobbed and no call! and then 3 points.

because it is at lakers' home court. Refs ***k their ****s.

another FT-less game for Yao. **** refs.

no exuses, refs are fakers' ***ks****rs.

those three ***ks***ers said loud to fakers "we blow and we swallow."

the maturity level around here is much higher than the professional level of those ****s***er refs.

All of these are from different posts and several of them are posts. I'll say again, you think this is reasonable? OK? What we should expect to see on this BBS. This BBS? I think not and I agree with Batman completely.

The irony for me is that I also think the refs were unbelievably biased and was cussing the TV during the whole game, but not where my kids could hear and not here. If I were you, canoner2002, I'd go back and delete those posts and apologize to Clutch. You can e-mail him or use the feedback forum. And I apologize for posting these again, but I want to know if this is what we can expect here. I thought a little leeway was OK, and more in Hangout, but not here. And I could have easily bolded these, canoner. It would have looked even worse.

EDIT: Decided to put the complete post in Feedback, the one before the edit. Admins, delete this if you think you should.

As I said, I don't curse often and actually the Laker game was the only one that ticked me off enough to do that. I was cool today until the last minute when they gave to ball to queens after the ball went outbound off Peja.

I already said sorry for cursing in that thread. The problem I have with Batman is he made it like I curse in half of my posts, and I post nothing but ref bashing. I dispise people who has no respect to fact.

Thanks for bringing up these curses again. I don't see any point besides bashing me.

I know that people will find ways to bash Steve again. Steve certainly has his share of faults, but it was Yao who lost this game for us. I think that Yao is hitting that wall again just like what happened at the end of last season. And it's something that is always going to happen if he has to play two more months of basketball every summer. It seems that he's mentally exhausted.

This is a trying time for the team, and more importantly for the head coach. JVG needs to find ways to get the team back on track. It's times like this that separate good coaches from great ones. Van Gundy needs to show us that he deserves that contract that he's getting.

BTW, we really desperately need Cato back.

That's the point, canoner... you don't get the point.
And it's not about people "bashing" you. None of us really care what you do here, unless you break the rules. And that's what you've been doing. Like I said, I thought the officiating in the Laker game, and in many others, was unbelievably bad. The Lakers in particular always have the refs in their pocket... at least it seems that way, but we have rules of behavior here that we're supposed to follow and some of us have seen them inforced or been the person who went over that "line". The sooner you figure out just what you're doing wrong, the better off you're going to be. If you want to stay here. Batman was originally trying to do you a favor, intentionally or not... now he's just tired of you and what you're doing. So are many of the rest of us.

Oh, and I can't believe we lost another game we could have won.

I said sorry for cursing here. I will say it again if it is necessary. Had Batman simply point out the problem without overstating it, had I not read his post of "who cares if we make the playoff or not", there wouldn't have been these arguments.

OK again, sorry to all that were offended. next time, when you see &^@#*@# in my post, you know what I want to say and how frustrated I am.

Why are u guys so pessimistic?
Playoffs is still waiting for us!
    Blazers already out!
What we have to do is win 2 - 3 games and grab our playoffs!
It's not so hard! Nuggets and Jazz have worse condition than we do!
    Cheer up!

This thread is turning to bunch of useless rambling. It's tough to lose this game. It's not the end of world.

Man, I was cheering and hollering the whole game, what a tough loss.
Did anybody who attended see the guy on the dance cam wearing the yellow shirt? That was my buddy! I waved the camera over to him, and he proceeded to entertain the whole arena.
Close to the best part of the whole game.......:D
