Yes, and they've also pulled out a lot of wins in the 4th, too. I got NBA League Pass for the 1st time this year, and all I'm saying is I've seen almost every playoff contender have games like this. I'm not counting games with injured Mac and Yao because every team has struggled without their best players (see Cleveland without Lebron, Nets without Kidd tonight). I've seen Phoenix collapse, Dallas against Philly the other night, Detroit against Atlanta, Utah against several teams, even Boston against Washington, of all teams. I watched the game, too, and it was almost surreal. There's always things teams have to address- I just think it's more panicky around here due to our early season struggles. Rox will be fine- but as I said, if you have the chance to make a trade... I'm just very pleased with the fact that Rick lets Landry, Brooks, Scola, and Novak have minutes in crunch time- especially Novak, who has been a liability at times due to his defense. You think JVG would have done this? NOT! The one rookie/young player he did play a lot due to necessity- Luther Head- had his development accelerated because of this. Now, I'm going to go and pass out.
They haven't even been in the playoff picture in 2 months. 1 step at a time. The question is can the Rockets even make the playoffs?
Just got to the thread, but what's up with that? Why didn't Scola play in the 4th? Plays 11 minutes for the game? And Novak plays over 7 minutes down the stretch?? If he doesn't make that 3 pointer to win the game, this board would be going insane with criticism of having him in during crunch time. Just a really weird finish. Thank god we won.
He's making the transition. Anyway, if you're T-Mac, even if you're traded do you really think the other team isn't going to want you to play team ball? Again, a lot of his looks were open tonight and he exercised pretty good shot selection. If his shot had been falling he'd have scored a lot more points.
Look again, we are 8th. Nuggs have a worse conf record. EFFIN WARRIORS keep winning games! If PHX would have just beat them we would be 7th right now.
Two bright spots: "Yao had three blocks on Wednesday to bring his career total to 759, moving him past Moses Malone for second most in team history. Hakeem Olajuwon is the team leader with 3,740 in his career." "Houston enters the All-Star break having won 17 of its last 20 games, marking the most successful 20-game span for the team since the 1996-97 season."
Can't agree more. Brain freezing always occur when Rocket has a big lead. That is exactly how Rocket lost those big-lead games in last season.
blaming Novak for losing our large lead is just so wrong.. The lead going from a 13pt differential to a 6pt difference was due to two things.. 1) Artest having his way with T-mac 2) No one on the Rocket's being able ot make a basket. The Rockets had only 1pt for most of the 4th quarter.. Hence Adelman going to Novak for an offensive boost..
I am relaxed but that won't change how deep the West is. The Rockets easy part of their schedule is ending and despite the winning streak they are still on the outside looking in. They will actually have to play better than the last few weeks just to make the playoffs.
wow. we won that's the good news. i think i, along with the rockets went on a all star break in the 4th quarter ... i was hoping we'd eventually stop them kings but we never did ... till the last shot at the buzzer. thank God for NOVAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tmac made some questionable decisions ... esp, that pass off to yao when he had a good look right at the rim ... just b/c everyone is okay with yao being the #1 option doesn't mean you have to have that take away from your game ... propz to rafer and battier. they've been shooting well lately. though battier cooled off the entire 2nd half but he's been good. hmm. weird game. scared the crap outta me at the end.
David stern should give the 7th and 8th Eastern Conference seeds to the 9th and 10th seeds in the West
