This is a lucky escape. Just 10 pts in the final quarter, what a melt down. We still weak when pressured or perhaps we slack off after leading big in 3 quarters. Something need to done to rectify this.
I was only able to watch the play by play on ESPN and I was very upset at what I was seeing. My Conclusions:= a) Coach A should be shot at dawn b) Rafer Alston is not worth the money we pay him Why does he suddenly think he is the new Michael Jordan, especially when he is so poor at his Point Guard duties. it has to be the crazy coach giving him encouragement. c) Tracy McGrady isn't stable enough to be on a NBA Court. He need his head examining! d)Rotation disgusting!! e) What happened to Scola??? f) Although I would like to think otherwise this team is not going to go very far with the sloppy play and basic mistakes and a coach who lets it all happen g) Yao Ming needs to wake up and demand the ball or trade him! h) BonziWhy did he stop going to the basket? Is it the coach or is Bonzi just a fool? i)Thank You Steve for saving our disgrace p
slow down buddy. I never liked TMAC's game but I have to give him credit for not laying the bricks like Rafer did in the 2nd half. TMAC is never a good team player. Rockets should trade him as soon as possible. .......this game ruined TMAC's value. I hope a stupid team would tanke him.
Yup people were begging for Tmac to save the Rockets after complaining he shoots and iso too much. BEGGING!
It should've never come down to that if Tmac made one play at either end of the floor before that in the 4th.
While I'm happy we won the game, the 4th quarter shows how far the Rockets are from being a contender. The aggressiveness of Artest is such a stark contrast to McGrady's. While I love McGrady as much as the next guy and you can't pin the entire 4th quarter collapse on him, your best players set the example, and his tendency to coast just infected the entire team. Credit goes to Adelman for sticking Novak in until the end, but this game reiterates the need for a RELIABLE 3rd scorer. We can't hope and pray that Alston can hit the open three every game like he happened to do tonight.
We won't whine if all 4 qtrs we are down. We are sad 'cause Rockets just cant cure this illness of later collapse.
My dear friend I'm not surprised if you are having doubts about our team. We all know that it won't make an iota of a difference even if GS loses tonight. The Houston Rockets have to win and they are feeling the pressure. There is no other way out.
McGrady was playing good D when he got on him. Artest was just on fire... How often in his career have you seen him bury turn around fade away J's with the D in his face... It was just one of those nights.
tmac can still dominate. he blew right by artest in the 2nd play of the game when we isoed him on the baseline. what i'm trying to say is he doesn't fit a system where he has to play within a "structured" offense and he rarely gets chances to score. he needs the ball in his hands and he needs to do everything. he's not like a rip hamilton or kevin martin. i want the rockets to win. and if trading tmac is the case, we need to do it. tmac can regain his superstar status elsewhere where he can be the man. he just can't be a guy who only takes 10-11 shots. we have rafer alston for that.
Rockets lost focus at the beginning of the 4th quarter. When Kings played much more intense defense, they just didn't how to respond and simply forced the pass to Yao. Fortunately, Yao made some big baskets. We got to keep our energy the whole game. 20-pt lead is not safe if you lost focus and energy. TMac was completely outplayed by Artest, which is sad. He should have attacked the rim from the very beginning of the game. He seemed to be scared by Artest's presence and wasn't confident to attempt dunks or layups. Rafer should know his role. He was over-confident in the 4th quarter and kept shooting rediculous shots. Novak, thank you for saving everyone in the Rocket! Otherwise, I might have a nightmare tonight.
