I believe that Harden can become a guy who's worth the max. But I think if we wait for him to convince himself, this season is lost. Frankly, McHale doesn't strike me as a coach who coaches like that. The reason that he's played Bev over Lin is stated to be defense. Also, in the post game interview against SA how he told Lin that he had to play better defense and how proud he was of Lin after the game for responding to the challenge. So if he can tell Lin straight up to play D if he wants to get minutes, why can't he do the same to Harden?

Because holding Harden accountable could get him fired but scapegoating Lin makes him popular with legions of 'true Rockets fans.'

To rephrase that: Mchale doesn't care about winning because he is a double talking conman without balls.

He calls out Lin by name in public about being a homerun hitter after having a reasonably good game and then he balks when Harden is clearly being the homerun hitter to the detriment of the team.

The report was from Latinopost. i read their reports all the time. Highly unreliable. Most purly speculation with no factual basis.

Apparently unreliable. It seem that Chicago actually wants to re-sign Deng next summer. That could be a smoke screen as well, but Deng does not seem to be on the block at the moment.

This sounds more like a conspiracy theory. I'm not a LOF, but I think JLin plays generally well. I admire his fearlessness when he drives to the hoop and he's a good shooter. However, I would very much like to see a bit more ball movement from him. He has a tendency to drive into a wall without a possibility to score or pass the ball. He needs to kick the ball before that. If he can fix that, I'm perfectly happy with him.

2nd full year as a player and always yo-yoing from the starting lineup to something in between off the bench. That's something that will get better with time.

that's a matter of personnel. Back in NY he could pass the ball and expect it to be moved around (at least until it went to melo).

Here, unless he drives that ball, just passing it off, the ball is likely not coming back because either his pass is to Dwight/Harden, or the pass after that will be. Harden has to be more open to just get rid of it and wait for it to comeback, but that would involve moving away from the ball and we know that is not forte, on either side of the court
