I'm not sure about the huge leap without adding players. FVV and Brooks have really helped to solidify the starting lineup. I don't think Ime's defense would be where it is without Brooks.
In the Spring of 22' Jalen Green and a couple of guys said they had fun playing basketball again when Dennis the Menace joined the team. Not much was made of it. Fast forward a year later, the other guard not named Jalen Green wanted to fight Dennis the menace on the court lol. It was aca-awkward Present time: Team ball is here to stay. 28 assists+ are the norm now. And who we draftin' with the 18th pick? I've never seen Oso play but with a name Oso, you can't go wrong.

Let's you know how incompetent the Rockets front office has been. But to answer your question: 1. He was a first time head coach so he came cheap. 2. The Rockets goal was to lose and they knew he would get the job done. 3. Heard from someone within the organization that they wanted Harden to want a trade. Rockets knew tanking was their best option and didn't want to come off as being the bad guys. I don't get all the hate for Silas. That's like being mad at the chef who can't cook and not the restaurant owner who hired him and keeps him/her employed just to save a few bucks. It's not the head coaches job to babysit. Management, agents etc are also responsible for keeping players in check and holding them accountable. KPJ should have been suspended for throwing chairs at a coach. That shows a complete lack of respect (and protection) for coaches. No one even brings up 23 year old Patrick, who's practically running the organization. These people know nothing about running an NBA team. I didn't like how Silas handled Sengun either. I honestly believe they benched him because he was playing too well when the goal was to suck, not because he was bad. But everything happens for a reason. Udoka probably wouldn't be the coach today if the Rockets would have hired a better coach than Silas.
I've LOVED Holiday since he joined the Rockets and so happy he's getting minutes. It's going to be hard to bench him when Amen returns.
Our guards n wings will have more space to maneuver if alpi can drain more threes; if alpi can drain more three, we're gonna be a problem to teams; if we can be the problem due to alpi's all around game, alpi gonna sign a BIG BIG contract.
I love everything I see about this team. But lets hold out too much prophesizing until we play a legit top 4 team that is at full strength.
