    So both of them didn't take that many shots?

    At least yao is getting more accurate today than shanghai.

    You can't feel bad about losing bc it was basically Bobby Jackson beating our scrubs at the last minute. As a team we were in control for most of the game.

    Zimmerman definitely is not NBA quality. He's gone. Talent wasn't there and neither was his head. What's up with his loopy shots even shooting freethrows?

    Gaines is a hustler, handled the ball alot, sometimes sloppily at the end but he didn't show me anything productive. Hope it was just a bad showing. He had the opposite problem as Zimmerman in that all his shots were Eddie Griffin line drives.

    Hawkins is a guy I hope we can keep on the IR or whatever. He's a gamer. Walton was talking about him being a 6'5" PF and with all the down low banging he was doing, and 1's, etc, he kind of reminded me of Barkley the way he got his points. They mentioned he had football scholarship offers but liked basketball too much. Thats always a good thing in basketball players.

    Anyone else cringe on the couple of Padgett postups? He sure did some damage from long range though.

    Is it lame that I don't fear the Kings as much now without Vlade Divac? Even with a healthy Webber, who's incredible, they're not the same team. I do think they're too professional to have a team meltdown LA style, but their edge is pretty much gone.

    Overall, we're a damn good passing team now. It should be a great season.

    What do ya think about Gaines? He looks like a streetballer out there especially in the last play...Ala Stevie turnover... haha! :p He seems good defensively but he still needs to find a way to score if want to backup Tmac...

    Its preseason, and its more worthwhile to lose a good game than win a sloppy one. Everything tonight looked better than in Shanghai. Except for Yao losing the ball all the time.

    two things i got from this game.


    we might win 48 games. looks like the same ol' same ol' from our offense and yao still doesn't seem very dominant (and walton tried to call him the best passing big man in the nba, geez). but i guess another 3 wins will be looked at as massive improvement around here and jvg will be hailed as a spectacular coach yet again.


    gaines sucks. the last 6.7 seconds were the worst 6.7 seconds of basketball i've ever seen. they make that 15 second dribble-thon by francis against the spurs last year look downright beautiful in comparison. at least francis didn't manage to bobble the ball about 9 times and then not even get off a real shot. he missed all the other shots i saw him take, too.

    not that it matters whether you win a preseason game or not but that was awful at the end.

    we also seem to be a soft, unathletic team on the court just as we are on paper. hopefully that will change once the games count but howard, ward, taylor, and ming don't leave me hopeful on that front.

    ok so i guess that was 3 things i got from this game.

    I like T-mac's passing, I like Howard's fundenmentals, I like Bowen's hustle and Hawkins' performance, I like Yao's first quarter offense and pass.

    One thing I am pretty much sure is this year's rockets should be much more watchable.

    Actually often in preseason games the coach alternates playing time between certain players, thus getting a good look at a player through a larger part of a game, rather then short glimpses.

    I predict that both Deke and Boki will get similar minutes as they did in the first game in China. (Boki may even start again)

    Bobby Jackson made an unbelievable shot off-balance, falling out of bounds in the corner, with two hands in his face. That put them up by 2.

    Then Gaines dribbled the ball too much and put up a VERY ugly shot.

    Rockets lose! Trade everybody - we suck! ;)

    I have to agree with your Yao assessment. Same guy, same game pretty much. He's just too slow athletically and as a decision maker.

    I made a huge discovery. Jim Jackson is a horrible passer. No wonder the Kings wanted to get rid of him.

    Boki is done. He sukk so bad he didn't get a single minute PT.

    Gaines sukks. He's done too.

    Yao, just take the damn shots.

    Howard, please stop taking the fadeaway J. It looks as horrible as Weatherspoon's.
