I'm rooting for an outcome of ROCKETS KICKIN THER FRKN ASS! all the "kings stomp us 150-70" posters should probably just not watch the game and play Magic: the gathering that night....as to not beam bad mind vibes towards the rockets.
The key is JJ and Boki on Peja. I believe Miller will be reminded that he is not in the same class with Yao.
As of a few minutes ago, we still had about 150 tickets in the $14 section, and a few scattered singles (no two open seats together) in other sections. If you want to go, it'd be best to hop on rockets.com right now and buy them on-line -- I don't see us having anything available for walkup tonight. We also have about 40 $30 tickets for New Jersey available right now from a group buy that cancelled. The Spurs on Monday, 2/9 are another hot ticket -- still plenty available, but they're moving fast. Tim
I'm afraid that most of the Rockets players' shots are going to be off from partying too much from these superbowl parties. They'll get crushed by Kings if Yao does not play well.
Maybe both of our teams' fans are suffering from a little lack of confidence based on recent play? My faith in the Kings ability to play well and defend well for 48 minutes on the raod is quite low right now, and I'm expecting a tough game tonight. I would actually be leaning more in the direction of a Rockets win, except for the fact that the Kings haven't lost three in a row in a long time. In any case, key to beating us is to take it inside every time--throw up ANY kind of shot, then just out jump our bigmen for the offensive rebound and get an easy 2. Oh, and make sure to get your hands in the passing lane--we don't have anyone who can score one on one right now. Anyways, despite my doom & gloom, Kings by five, only because it's been a long time since we lost three in a row. Good luck tonight, and hope no one gets hurt.
Kings spanked Rox badly in Sac in November. Rox shot 36%, had 11 assists and 17 turnovers. Kings shot 52% had 33 assists and 15 steals. http://www.nba.com/games/20031128/HOUSAC/recap.html Problem for Rox and all teams that play Sac is that they are both tall and quick and that they keep their players fresh with a 9 man rotation. But this is an especially bad match-up for Rox - the only chance for Rox is if Yao has big game and as a team they out hustle and out-execute Kings - anyone having an off game will spell trouble. Yao getting off a big game will be a challenge - Cato's a zero offensive threat and SAC will bring both PF and C on him. If it's Divac and Miller - that's a tough combo. No way Yao can have a big game if Rox don't control tempo and run. If that happens - watch Yao to be running the court with his head down looking at the floor.
Is there any doubt we will lose big in this game? Peja is playing his best bball right now and Miller burned us with his season high 31pts last time. This will be a big embarrassment. Rox 74 Kings 124 Peja 45pts 6 rebs, Miller 32pts 14rebs Yao 8pts 6rebs SF 15pts with 4 of 22 shooting, 2 Asts and 10 TOs
The kings always offer matchup problems for the Rockets and their offense gives us fits. Although the Rockets usually shine in the limelight, this game will go the Kings way.
Actually, I think Miller will give Yao fists with his outside shooting. We don't have any big people quick enough to keep up with him. I've been waiting for Steve's break-out game in a while. I believe he will come through big for us tonight! --daoshi
