Umm, reread what I said...the roster shouldn't be gutted but they do need add a few more pieces; more athleticism and more efficient shooters.

There were only what, 4 players from the '05 playoffs on this season's team...you just can't keep having that kind of turnover and expect to have a perrenial contender. Build on what you had this season.

I feel more bitter because we lost from a winning position. It's worse than a blowout. Everyone has to take the blame but most of all T-Mac,Yao and JVG.
The Rockets organization has to take tough decisions. I'm not calling for Yao or T-Mac to be traded but if either one has to go to make this team tougher then so be it because we don't have the salary cap space or multiple high draft picks to get better.
I'm always going to support the Houston Rockets no matter what happens but the team must get stronger.

I bet next year we'll be the 8th seed. I really don't see this team winning 50+ wins next season.

Once again we go up 2-0 and lose it in 7. I can't believe it.

How come this Rockets team never ever gets to be #1 in the West in dominate like Dallas did this year or like the Spurs have in recent years?

Well I can tell you that if it doen't change, it will be dead in the water and Les will loose money big time!! Then there will be change. :p
The team must get stronger, quicker more athletic and have at least five players who can score not just two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While this is a tough loss, you have to remind yourself that Rockets were not a championship team anyway.

We have to upgrade our role players, especially at the 4. Hayes is a solid back-up. Juwan Howard, well, he's just a really pathetic basketball player. He holds the Rockets back so much. Juwan acts tough, but he is the furthest thing from it.

I understand Juwan has two years left on his contract, but the Rockets are going to have to eat that and release him, or don't play him. Or, they will experience another night like this.

McGrady did a great job, Yao played well, but they need a tougher, more physical 4, if they can find it.

Yeah they should do that so they can endure another 8-10 years of mediocrity.

These were two evenly matched teams...one of them had to lose...the Rockets had their opportunities but squandered them...with just a few changes I think they can get over the hump.

Looking like Bonzi was the x-factor here...he was that third scoring option this team really needed. And that would have benefited both parties. Sad.

Sorry we need Starters and bench players- Alston,Luther , Hayes and Battier are only good enough to come of the bench on a team going for a championship. Yao & Tracy ok the rest should not be in the NBA!! :p

Those wanting the status quo with JVG: well follow JVG where ever he ends up because he will not be back next year. He should not be given the chance to do the same old thing again. He does not know how to develop young players. I for one am looking forward to the changes that will come.

The Rockets gave their best efforts........

But not good enough....and it never meant to be for TMAC and Big Yao advancing into Round 2.

well i guess regular season does count. gsw domainated the mavs in reg season, jazz dominated the rockets in reg season, both advanced in the playoffs regardless of the other team having hca.

I don't know what our cap situation looks like, but we look much like we did 2 years ago after losing to Dallas due to an inferior supporting cast. I don't put that on Van Gundy nearly as much as I do on our front office for our lack of atheleticism.

We have a ton of specialists on the team that can only do 1 or 2 things well, and most of them are not even exceptional in their specialist roles. We desperately need more players that are capable of creating their own shots.

Unfortunately you can't just fire players, so the coach will be the prime contender to go. Larry Brown was a hot prospect and many people considered him the #1 choice back when Jeff was hired, so I wouldn't be surprised if they go that way now. Not sure if that is a good thing or not after his NY stay. I like Jeff over all, but the team just doesn't look like it is really that close to truly contending for a championship. Having the zero experience Morey taking over as GM is cause for concern as well.

We DON"T NEED JUST A THIRD OPTION- WE NEED A THIRD, FOURTH AND FIFTH OPTION. ALL THE TOP TEAMS HAVE AT LEAST FIVE WHO CAN SCORE ANYTIME THEY GET THE BALL IN A SCORING POSITION.
WE HAVE TWO-THAT IS WHY WE LOST THIS SERIES and POOR COACHING ADJUSTMENTS AND DECISSIONS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AND PLAYOFF SERIES

Dennis Lindsay said that there is this awesome prospect from Senegal. They say he's got mad athleticism and could be our answer to the four. Sounds like another potentially great Spanoulis-type import there.

I'm sick of people blaming mcgrady or yao. f-ing 29 points a piece on near 50% shooting, what more do you want??? the problem all series was defensive breakdowns. someone from the jazz was always open all series...we just happened to get away with it in games 1 and 2 cuz they couldn't hit their shots. Granted, someone from the rockets was always open, but the problem was that all five of the jazz players were good shooters: deron, fisher, okur, harpring, and most of all boozer. On the other hand, only battier was hitting his open shots; juwan was garbage, rafer is so inconsistent, luther didn't show up, hayes..not a shooter, dikembe...not a shooter. Just a lack of quality shooters here...damn this game hurt pretty bad.

All throughout the series, it opened my eyes up to where the Rockets really are. After watching 7 straight games against one team that executes offence and consistenly holds us to low shooting percentages, it showed they were the better TEAM. Relying on 2 stars alone proved we can't even make it out of the first round. Towards the end of the game, that's what we did. One on one post ups for T-Mac, one on one post ups for Yao. If their shots don't fall, we lose. Our offense is too stagnant. Jazz were constantly moving. But ya, we lost.

I thought I'd be really mad at T-Mac if we lost this series, but I'm not. Towards the end of the game, I saw him play his heart out, while being helpless to his teammates inability to follow through with plays. He can't do it all by himself, which is what he probably feels right now.

And ya, if you notice, only T-Mac and Yao can create their own shots. No other player (that gets actual playing time) can do that. It's obvious.

The Rockets can't possibly trade Yao. If anything they havta rethink JVG as the coach. But I'm not goin to assign blame on everyone. The Rockets played hard, but fell short.

But I'm worried about T-Mac. I uno if this is the very thing that either motivates him to REFUSE to lose next year, or makes him break down and give up. It's goin to take a lot of motivation to come back stronger than ever next year.

Cool down guys. We just lost to a better team.
Forgive our super stars + Battier. Other guys in this team including managers and coach are just garbage.

I'm joking but I'm shocked we didn't get that one again. Ugh.
