agreed, jazz style coupled that with rox defensive style will make for some pretty low scoring games. This will not be a shootout but a grind out.

and for those who are worried about how rox play in the next series, let this series dictate what will happen in this series, mavs are a completely different team and rox will prepare accordingly

it's a good thing that ppl just keep bashing us, that would keep our players motivated.

    4-0, let's go, rockets!!

We gotta play MUCH better then this in Utah. Boozer is good, but we have to contain him, 41 points is not acceptable. Juwan/Shane did a good job on Okur. Boozer needs to be guarded by a quicker player then Yao. T-Mac is probably not strong enough, but maybe we can give it a try, he is certainly long enough and more then quick enough to take him off his perimeter game.

I honestly don't see how Game 3 is a must win for us. IMO it is more of a must win for them they don't want to be down 3-0 in a best of 7 series. It would be huge to take 1 of 2 from them there in Utah, but I don't see it as a neccessary must win. The first 2 games were must wins and they did that.

yao IS our best matchup for boozer. if boozer is hot, what can u do? yao put his hands up (though he wasn't close b/c he doesn't want to get beat off the dirbble) so that's relatively good D.

but again, he was on fire. i dont think he'll shoot like this every game.

u want tmac on him? my god. tmac will break his back.

use the small lineup more w/ howard and hayes up front. that's another good strategy

Don't be too hard on our guys. Game 2 is always tough. Jerry Sloan's team is always tough. Jazz played a very good game. Boozer was on fire offensively, Memet did a great job defensively against Yao Ming without double teaming him. I think that is also part of the reason we shot extremely pooly behind the arc, for Utah players could recover quickly.

However, that's a double-sided sward, if Memet, a jump shooter, had to play physically with 7'6 and 300 lbs Yao, he's not going to have any offense left. When you save Boozer's energy to go nuts with offensive effort, he's not going to help much defensively. They are a phyical team, therefore the low percentage of our duo. Yes, TMac & Yao could play better, but it's not just on them. Still, we came up with a win, and it didn't even need to come down to last few possessions.

I don't know what Magic was smoking, how would he expect Utah to play a lot better to beat a very good road team like Rockets 2 in a row? Hope Boozer shoots even more acurate? Or hope Memet play even better defense against Yao? Or hope Rockets shoot even worse at 3 pointers?

    This will be a sweep.

great win despite a 41 pt from boozer. However, we can't not let someone goes off like that again especially at Utah.

I think the reason JVG played Juwan more in the 4th was to hope him hit a couple of mid-ranger jumpers to force Boozer to play defense, which will tire him out more quickly. But Juwan didn't make him pay.

Not only that, but putting Yao on Okur (the next viable option) would be pretty ineffective. Yao can't block jumpshots due to his slow movement, he would tire quickly running out to the perimeter, and wouldn't be able to collect any boards either. Yao needs to continue matching up with Boozer.

i do not like sloan's postgame comments, "how many free throws did they got?" "we shoot the ball well in the 3rd qt, but they went to free throw line too much, 14 times in a qt." "free throw hurts us in the game" ...
he did not even mention why ak got 0 points and why they set up for jump shots. indeed everytime when boozer attacked the basket, he got his chance to free throw line.

yes i agree it is a must win for utah but it is also a must win for us also because if we win game 3 we will have a huge advantage on them not just that we would be winning 3-0 but it would inflict such a blow on them that they would not be able to recover.should utah win game 3 they are just one game back and they will get renewed confidence.my point is if we had beaten the mavs two years ago in game 3,the series would have been over in 5 or 6 and we ould have advance to the next round but because they won game 3,they had it going and won 3 straight but it's just my opinion.i want this game 3 so bad

There are some things i noticed in tonight's game:

    1) When t-mac and yao are off, we dont have a 3rd scorer. everyone besides tmac and yao is weak just as i suspected.

    2) Luther should never have the ball EVER. i get so nervous when he's dribbling or making a pass for that matter

    3) Chuck Hayes is a baller !

Now game 3 is very crucial. I don't see us winning because Utah is VERY good at home. they are like a different team. the thing about tonight is that they were missing very makeable shots. they won't miss them at home. if we somehow win game 3 i'll be very surprised.
