i agree with you,on tv we always see his hands on t-mac but maybe he has the experience to do it in a subtle way so that the ref won't call the fouls.they should point it out to the ref each time then they would start calling the hand check

    That is playoff defense.
Rafer did the same thing and we call it good defense. Battier better pick up his "playoff defense" too.

Yao - B+ for his solid and consistent play. Could have shoot the ball better. Should not miss that layup and also miss the put back after the offensive rebound in 1 qtr.
T-Mac B+ for pickup up for his game up at the crucial time. Should have attached more. Should have tuned down the talks before the game.

I ran across Ackerman (Rockets Radio Studio Host)'s blog. I think that this is how you makes the picks when your home town team has legit condidates. For those who read Fran Blinebury's picks, you know what I am talking about. Fran is a closet Mavs fan. ;)

    MVP: Steve Nash
Coach of the Year: Jeff Van Gundy
Defensive Player of the Year: Marcus Camby
    Most Improved: Kevin Martin
Rookie of the Year: Brandon Roy
    6th Man: Leandro Barbosa
    Sportsmanship: Shane Battier

    First Team All-NBA:
    F Dirk Nowitzki
    F Lebron James
    C Yao Ming
    G Steve Nash
    G Kobe Bryant

    2nd Team All-NBA:
    F Tim Duncan
    F Shawn Marion
    C Amare Stoudemire
    G Tracy McGrady
    G Gilbert Arenas

    3rd Team All-NBA:
    F Carmelo Anthony
    F Carlos Boozer
    C Chris Bosh
    G Jason Kidd
    G Dwyane Wade

    can't agrre more!
Both Tmac and Yao are great players. We need both of them at their best to go deep in the plaoffs.
It looks like there is a pattern that every time Tmac had a couple of good games, he started to open up his big mouth and put additional pressre on himself. Tmac should learn from Yao, no matter how good you are in the previous games, focus on your next game. No more "this is my team", "Its all on me" stuff. Bball is a team game. Look at the Lakers, they are not going anywhere no matter KB makes how many points.

Should Figher just commit suicide after this play? Its ridiculous...
He is still way better than average and would be a good supplement
for Rockets. I would still take him if possible.

I'ts funny. I've been over at jazzfanz.com(don't go there just to be a troll jerks) and they hate Fisher like most here hate Alston. It might be worse if thats possible. It hurt me but I posted that I would rather have Rafer.

As the current team stands, Tmac can win more game without Yao, that alone makes him more important (AGAIN, WITH THE CURRENT TEAM). Yao's role can be amplified if we have a better PG, and in that situation we could afford some inconsistency from Tmac, then Yao = Tmac. As for now, Rockets live or die with Tmac, but not always the same case with Yao. Another way to think of this is, Yao's out for 33 games and we are still #5 in the west, can you say the same if Tmac were out for that long? That, my friend, tells the difference. Now, nobody denies we need both to go deep. Don't mix "to win games" with "to go deep". Or you can say they are equally important for us to go deep, and I won't argue...

BTW, I never accused Yao for the 2-9, I implied that record could change largely if we had a Deron. Unfortunately we stuck with Alston, he actually played decent recently, especially on D, but he is the main reason Yao relying solely on Tmac. I don't care who is really more important----just telling the truth based on the regular season. The dog bite of TOF and YOFs are getting old. I wish both sides can shut up and be happy with the win...

Sorry this is off-topic, but does anyone know what happened to Van Gundier? Did he get banned or something? I remember he would post a lot here and give good insightful posts. Then after a while people started getting upset at him over something and I haven't heard anything from him in a while. Just some information would help, or if Van Gundier himself said something.
