ClutchFans Game Thread: Jazz @ Rockets 4/21/2007 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

T-mac and Yao will be VERY pumped for this game, esp. T-mac. He'll have a big game like the one he had against PHX.

I thinkT-mac's old playoff fears will come back to haunt him in the later games and he'll fade in game 6 and 7 a little bit - but Yao Ming and Rafer/Luther/Shane will pick up the slack and help T-mac finally get out of the first round.

Then, without the psychological barrier, T-mac unleashes all hell upon the unsuspecting Mavs in round 2 and we go all the way to the Finals!

Tmac shows no mercy! he knows more than anyone else that this is it, this is his time to finally get a great chance to get out of first round!! he will do whatever he can to accomplish that and he knows that Yao is right behind him! we will see THE GREAT MCGRADY!! the great attacking Mcgrady! He will Attack!! Attack!! Attack the basket!! until he gets what he wants!!!!

 

i smell Tmac messing around and getting a triple dub's in the game. Utah knows they can't stop Yao so they will try and limit tmac so only 25 pts

say what? tmac was monstrous in game 6 v. dallas. monstrous. game 7 he had a bad first quarter but he played ok. had his team step up (outside of yao), the game would have been closer and he would be able to play the 4th.

tmac has no fear going into the playoffs. sure he'll have a game where he will shoot 40%, but he'll dominate other aspects of the game. no one will hae a perfect 7 game series. even dwade sucks in he first 2 games of the finals last yr but no one remembered that.

i believe this team is equipped to withsstand a game where tmac can shoot subpar, but b/c he's so good, he'll contribute in other ways.

before with his old teams, if he shotos bad, his team sucks.

 

Man, I really like the way our starting lineups match up, save for the PF spot of course.

Points we have to keep in mind.
1) T-mac in playoff mode is absolutely impossible to defend. The high pick and roll with yao and t-mac is sick esp against Utah because Okur cannot guard that. I have my T-mac on Okur poster on preorder.
2) Utah sucks as a road team.
3) Utah is full of players that have never played in a playoff game.
4) Utah as a team sucks at 3pters and we do an excellent job of forcing jumpshots and keeping them from scoring in the paint.

So i expect us to win in 5 or sweep. Lets ride our home court and beat them down. We need to find the energy that had us getting to 10-15 point leads in the 1st quarter. If we find that energy, i think it's a sweep.

 

Our outside shot is really bad.
tmac is cold.
