Landry's coming off an injury and you can tell he doesnt have the same explosiveness. plus Millsap is way bigger than Landry and has more moves.

i kinda think that playin tmac for 2 games straight for 48 min...took a toll on his body...since the streak...and that's drifted to the postseason...

Yes It would be all well and good but as time goes by I see T Mac being less and less able to get up for the big games. Yesterday he was unable to drive past any single player who was guarding him. Possibly the 47 points was a historic high point of his Rocket's career. :p

It depends on where you put your expectations.

If you want and expect Landry to hustle and get offensive rebounds and put backs, then your expectations are very reasonable. That's what Millsap did as a rookie and what he was doing last night.

I think a number of people on this board have higher expectations than that though. They expect him to score on spectacular dunks and moves. There wont be many plays like that in playoffs and if there are, it will most probably come when jazz have made a critical error or defense. Also, consider that those kind of plays came off of help defense on Tmac. With AK47 and Harpring on Tmac, Jazz are not likely to leave Landry open for wide dunks.

Other thing to consider is defense. Millsaps' defense as a rookie was considerably better, IMO, than Landry's has been. Landry has problems moving his feet laterally and is not as good of a shot blocker.

I think there is a lot of panic towards the Utah Jazz right now here and not sayin´you don´t have to respect the Jazz but i feel it is way too much.

Look at the game and you´ll see that there are a lot of things that can be corrected and prevented.

First of all i will point that Utah won all the quarters by a margin of 5-1-2-3 points respectively. SO if we correct few things for 1 or 2 quarters we can beat them on the series.

First of all is Bobby Jackson, he was 3-15, Adelman needs to cut his shot attempts and force him to feed a more reliable player make it Scola, Battier or T-Mac, i really don´t care, because 3-15 is something that can easily be fixed.

Second is the defense, or the bad luck, who cares.. Williams, Boozer and Kirilenko shot a combined 25 for 44, that´s 56% from the field, that WON´t happen again i assure you, Adelman has to make the rest of the Jazz beat us.

3 point shooting, or the lack of it, we were 6-22 from 3pt land, i say, less Bobby Jackson, some time for T-Mac at the point and let Novak in for a while. The guy can give us accuaracy from 3pt land and can guard Kirilenko as good as he was guarded yesterday, so we don´t loose nothing and we win at this stage.

I think next game will be a whole different story.

We didnt play with passion. We gived up after those two three by Korver.
T-mac will have to step up more in game two, though he did well in the first 4 quarters.

Looks like we'll be the only team w/ homecourt to lose the first game barring anything unexpected.

It is ridiculous to have people blaming that Tmac took only 3 shots in the 4th qtr. Did you realize that T-Mac was 7-21 and you want him to take more shots?

BJax played soooo poorly, but for those of you thinking that Rafer coming back is going to turn it all around....well....i hope you're right. Rafer was THE MAN during the streak, but outside of that, he hasn't shot well. I don't see how it's possible for BJax to shoot as bad as he did in game 1.

The frustration and beer has worn off from last night, and I'm ready to go into game 2 with a refreshed attitude....BUT.....If we can't make free throws, we're in trouble.

I totally agree with someone who posted earlier about TMac and Landry being on the court together. TMac drives, dishes to Landry, and he is our only PF who can finish STRONG. If those two aren't playing together, and I didn't really notice whether or not they are.....they need to be. We all have our opinions on why we lose games, but the bottom line is making free throws, getting rebounds, keeping turnovers down, and strong defense is how the Rockets win.

    Game 2 prediction: Rockets 86 Jazz 83

    See you there.

If Rockets can't make "Free" FTs, we will be swepted. This is the only category that we are better than jazz.

Take it easy guys. It is only the 1st game and the team without rafer alston.

It is Rox's turn to win a series game after they lost two of them in last two seasons. Don't think they couldn't pass the 1st round of playoffs this year. This time they will lose one or two at the beginning just like jazz and mavrick did in last two seasons and this time rox will go through to 2nd round.

In regular season, Rox just started their 22-win streak after they were defeated by Jazz. Now it comes to playoffs. Shall Rox win another 16-win streak to win the champion?

who else would you rather have taking the shots... Tmac who makes 20 mil a year... or scrub making 2 million a year....

bottom line is... there is no question Tmac is our number 1 option... he can get his teammates involved as much as he wants... but in the 4th... he needs to be the primary option....

great players are the ones who step up... especially against defenses who toughen up in the playoffs...

who can still operate against teams who send 2 or 3 players at them...

if were going to give Mclazy a pass in the 4th because they sent 2 defenders at him....

then no one should ever fault the big stiff... for having a bad game...when they put 2 defenders on him before he even gets the ball....

Um, the person taking the shot should be the one who has the highest (effective) percentage on that possession regardless of salary. That's called smart basketball .... If 20 million dollar TMac is double teamed and sees an open cutting Aaron Brooks, the correct basketball play is to pass it to Brooks for a layup even though TMac earns almost 2 orders of magnitutde more money.
