It was definitely a team loss, but to me, Yao was the most disappointing tonight. I think he should volunteer a charity fine for himself. Every time he lays it up when it's possible to dunk, he should donate $1000 to his favorite charity make or miss. Yao: take some arms and hands off with some throw-downs. Watch some Phi Slamma Jamma footage. Something. All those lay-ups are so weak and sickening even when they go in...
I know I shouldn't be responding to this because Charvo is a troll but this quote is damn inciteful, the admins should consider banning Charvo because of racial insinuations like the above, I don't have the full record of all his posts but he has done this before. Charvo is also a capricious basketball dilettante, he absolutely knows nothing about the game. One of the reasons the team turned their season around was because T-Mac went to SF and DW went to SG it increased our overall team speed and D with that rotation. I am tired of his posts because he is always coming up with absurd suggestions depending on the most recent player who is having a bad game. He was constantly proposing that Laker trade for Yao in the beginning of the season, he has proposed multiple PFs and now he wants a SF. I can't speak for the majority on this BBS but we are better off without Charvo.
It's nice to see everyone cares.... My momma taught me to ignore people who are obnoxious. Sometimes I actually remember her advice. Bobbu Sura was born unhappy. That is what makes him such a driven sob player. He needs to give the rest of the team lessons. ZHAO1109: people on this thread are only blaming Yao???? I just read about 5 pages, seems like the whole team took hits. CHARVO: are you frustrated? me too. We are still a few pieces away from potential Dynasty. I work 7 days a week, 12 hour days, so I don't live here. My observation: some people have an obsession about Yao. for some this obsession includes trading him. For others this obsession includes babying him. For most, Yao is a work in progress who plays well offensively, seems to forget some of his training every couple of games, and needs more work and experience in a number of areas including rebounding, ball handling, overall eye-hand coordination and conditioning. And attitude: he needs some Bobby Sura unhappy, angry lessons. Some Deke elbow lessons. And I'm still glad we have him. And most people feel this way. So take some advice from my Mom and quit letting people with different, even strange opinions waste your time by causing you to post long, raving posts..... In two weeks Bobby will be back, still unhappy, maybe even call it angry; Mike will be 2nd in the rotation, Moochie will be passing out towels and gatorade, and the team will get back into a flow. Life will be happy. Now, when is Baker gonna hit the court and show us if there is anything left in HIS tank?
wtf???? wow you are an idiot. do you think all black people think the same or something? i'm being serious when i say that.
I don't know why people are getting up in arms over what I post. It's plainly obvious to me. In the NBA, if you are a non-black player, you better have either "hustle" or "good 3 point shooter" in your description, or else you will not be in the league for a long time. Guys like Sura, Barry, and Bowen are in the league because they hustle. Barry is also shoot a good 3 pointer. They command respect from other black players in the league. Is this bad? No. It's the same thing in any other profession dominated by a particular racial category or gender. Any different person that enters that arena better show why he or she deserves to be there in order to command respect from his or her peers. The other day when TMac talked about Sura, anyone who read his comments could tell TMac respected Sura a lot. As much as Yao has progressed over his 3 seasons, I don't think the respect from his peers is there. People need to think about that when they say Yao's teammates don't give him the ball enough. Why do they don't give him the ball?
Pathetic...Although, I got to see how pathetic we were in Dallas...Not on FSN or anything, but on Telemundo...I don't care what language I see them in, as long as I see them...

Yao is certainly not free from any criticism, but I can't believe to the extent that a lot of fans take it. I've read post after post about that one layup he missed neverminding that; at 7'6, constantly labeled slow, back to the basket from 20 feet out, and the shot clock running down; he spun with the ball, drove through the defense, and finger-rolled it up in traffic. Pretty nice play if you ask me. Am I disappointed he missed it, or do I wish he had dunked it? Of course, but I'm not going bash an otherwise great effort in a situation he is clearly not used to dealing with as a player of his size. Come on, it's one thing to be a fan, but to constantly harp on every little thing Yao does wrong is incredibly short-sighted and narrow-minded. The sad thing is that, many of the posters that are that anal over Yao's play, only focus on the negatives instead of looking what he brings to the team and franchise as well. I don't know if it is human nature for some to tear down someone as celebrated as Yao is, a racial thing or just way too high expectations for him at this stage of his career; but it is getting pretty annoying and tiresome. Of course I say all this, and next season when he is averaging 24/10/2.5, people will bash him for not dunking it once in the midst of a 35 point effort. Oh well.
Because you came in late, you should check posts aftergame, 80% point to Yao. It's nonsense. But I did complain Yao's D which was horrible. Maybe team rbs can solve this problem. Also, what about TMAC 's D yesterday? bad bad bad
The whole team was awful from the coach down to the players. And no one thing killed us. Yao didn't rebound. Come on, Yao, grab the rebounds!!! Don't worry about boxing out so much. And get your head in the game. TMac's D was horrible. If Raja "Rings the" Bell and Harpring go off on us, we're gonna get killed by every team. Our defensive rotations were terrible. Juwan Howard only showed up to play for one half. He was making up for the lack of desire on Yao's part and then we went to the half and he just disappeared. Ryan Bowen is not a basketball player. Hustle is great, but it would be nice to have some skills. Mike James had a great game but was too hesitant and I wasn't really sure if he knew the plays at times. Too many times it looked like we were running off of busted plays. Three point shooting that was just awful. I wonder soemtimes if this stat determines our losses and victories. And the playcalling was suspect. -- How many times can we run up the court and "fake post" Yao and then go away from him. Yao might have been sucking on rebounding, but he was scoring on Utah.
A nice poster. That is what I saw too from the game. Also it is time to say something for TMac'plays instead of Yao's, Yao's, and Yao's. The whole team was awful from the coach down to the players. And no one thing killed us. Yao didn't rebound. Come on, Yao, grab the rebounds!!! Don't worry about boxing out so much. And get your head in the game. TMac's D was horrible. As much as I defend JVG from all the haters... this is one aspect that I would like to hear his full views on. I completely understand the "fake post" when teams plan on fronting, when the offense is too one-dimensional, when the shooting is great, and when teams aggressively double-team Yao... but games like yesterday (when nothing else is really clicking) are the ones where just giving the ball to Yao right away might suit the team better. Of course, they could have scored on every possesion last night... and they still couldn't have stopped Raja Bell or Matt Harpring from consitently lighting up the scoreboard. We lost yesterday because we couldn't grab a rebound, and we couldn't get a stop in the 4th quarter... regardless of what happened on our offensive end.

Well, what did I say? We caught a good shooting Jazz night, which they dont always do. But on our side, rebounding and bench production killed us. Yao needs to avoid those silly fouls and dunk the damn the ball! Bad bad loss. We are not a lock for the playoff yet. One bad week could send us back to hell.
i was watching the game on NBATV and the jazz anouncer kept saying that raja had "rung the bell". how freakin' annoying.
