Metmur Okur, another 3-ptr PF with accurancy. Let's see how the Great van Gundy adjust his game plan or we will see Okur has his career highs in points! Regardless, it will be a tough tough game for the rockets. Jazz has enough big men, okur, collins, osterfat and even andre 'i like to block yao' kirilenko to throw at yao. Unless Tmac find his touch, I will expect this to be another heartbroken loss!!!!
CD doesn't have the power to fire the janitor...JVG runs that show. BUT... I have seen something over the past 2 days...VERY troubling... It is coming from JVG...sports writers for the Chron especially...and the fans here on this site. OVER REACTION Is it just me or has everybody freaked out over the Laker loss? I mean Tracy played like crap...Yao shot the ball horribly but did other things well...we just didn't score... If I remember correctly...we won 4 in a row...and everybody had their Rockets flags waving...and then we lost...and now the season is over... Our team has a crappy personality (JVG/Justice article)... We suck and should just quit. HEY...ATTENTION EVERYBODY! You can't win them all...it is impossible...and for anyone to expect the Rockets to win out over the remainder of the season...well....that ain't gonna happen...never was. If we go 4-1 the rest of the way...we are sittin pretty...WE WON'T. BUT... We may go 4-1...2-1...3-1...5-2...and that puts you deep in the playoffs. Some nights it just isn't there...that Cook guy came up big and our guys didn't...but they had been...an d all indications point to them doing it again. Tracy won't continue to slump. Yao will get his shot...the guy is rebounding...progress is still there. Wins in bunches...
I understand, BUT, you need to understand and remember that this team has a history of laying major "low energy" eggs before their home crowd at crucial times in crucial games. This is PR nightmare, and it goes on and on. Why can't this team shoot straight in the TC? Why do they not get up for big crowds? Big games? Especially at home. The effect of these kinds of performances on the psyche of the fans is profound. And no amount of "yea, yea, happy talk" really helps. It is disappointing and it begins to "define" who the team is. JVG has put his finger on a major problem besides the lack of talent. It is the lack of "fire," what Sura brought. Too many "nice" guys, too laid back, too many "oh well's," too many "maybe next time's." You either have that competitive edge or you don't, and this team must get the right personnel mix to get it.
I feel the same way...I don't know about anyone else but I'm really tired of Tmac's inability to play well at the Toyota Center. WTF is his problem? And don't give me the 'oh, our home crowd isn't loud enough'. That's just a cop-out, he plays in other buildings that are quiet as hell too but does just fine there. It looks like he's lost his fire, although this season hasn't been exactly inspiring for him.
Scenario with a healthy TMAC: JVG tries to blow the game but TMAC takes over and we win a close game. Scenario w/ an unhealthy TMAC: JVG blows the game....
One thing Utah have every single night is intensity and hard play, especially as long as the likes of AK47 and Harpering are on that roster. One of two things will happen: The Rockets take the last game personally and come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, or the they play as disinterested and casually as they did the last game. The problem with this team is not wins or losses, it's the inconsistent energy they bring to every game. That's the only thing that troubles me at times.
Rockets blow the Jazz out of the water as T-mac and Yao get back into regular form. Over reaction heads in the other direction on GARM We win out until the AS break. Rockets 105 Jazzzzzz 88
I think all the trade talk about DA will hurt the intensity. Players will be distracted and thinking about their own direction.
Looks like DA will be playing in the hot tub again. My guess is Barry too, after JVG's comments today. Should we still trust you? VanGundy is a flake.
Great post TIM BREAUX ... finally a voice of reason. I am as disappointed as everyone for the Lakers loss, awful feeling in the pit of the stomach like the losses against Mavericks in game 3 and 4, but like you I understand that there are whole lot of games left. The team just needs to take one game at a time. And solid, just like the team has a history of laying major "low energy" eggs they also have a history of pulling out important games. BTW pessimism doesn't help either. The key is how one deals with disappointment. If one as a fan never quavers on the belief that the team will pull it out, circumstances that seem to have no solution won't come into play. Oh yea ... Rockets win against Utah tomorrow. They will find a way.
Boozer coming back will screw their chemistry up, but Yao has trouble with Centers who shoot from out top...IE Okur... Jazz are dangerous, but I think the Rocks win by 5 Rocks 92 Jazz 87 DD
JVG and OVERREACTION! I agree. If I were Barry I would be pounding a short little bald guy into the frigging turf. What a turd that little mf'er is. Hayes doesn't play perfect every game every play so you bench him and lose his offensive rebounding. Head makes a mistake so you yank him quickly. Ryan Bowen is one big ongoing mistake but he jumps around like a frigging kangaroo on caffeine so he stays in the rotation ahead of Jon Barry who can hit an open shot. Moochie vs Barry? No contest. We have a roster full of injured older players so we trade a young performing bench rotation PF for a young G with ligament damage in his knee. ?? Barry can hit a 3. Padgett hit a lot last year but he is gone. Head and Hayes are probably getting tired of being jerked around by Bobby Knight Jr. headcase. Tmac and Yao are probably wondering what they got themselves into. Is there such a thing as motivating people in a positive manner? I wonder if Ritalin would help? Les, step in and find out what is going on in the clubhouse before it all blows up!
Stro needs to drape Mehmut's right side and force him left when he is standing out at the 3 point line. Force him to dribble drive to his left. Problem solved. Rockets win.
