Hold on a second. Since when has Yao needed to be coddled. He's pretty much a mature, get down to business, self-motivator. Cato on the other hand was a classic example of a guy that really needed that reinforcement.

Yeah moochie's seemed very much the professional no-nonsense player. I think the chron quoted JVG as saying Moochie, at this stage of his career, doesn't want to be a clown anymore and just wants to play ball.

LOL! Love how Deke gets into opponent's heads. They're terrified of those 'flyin' elbows', it's messing with their heads. :D

As for Stro...Man is that boy lost, when he gets the ball he panics and has no idea what to do with it. What a raw talent. :(

Deke's inside presence on defense can't be overstated, despite his horrendous offense.

I like how McGrady is swinging the ball to the open man to get those guys their shots. Sometimes I think his passing is the best part of his game, and can be the most lethal if all you have around him are spot-up shooters (kind of like how Hakeem had all those shooters around him).

Bill: This is a very fertile area for basketball talent

    Glyde: Very fertile, Bill.

I never said Yao needed to be coddled. However, since he's so hard on himself, he seems like the guy who needs more people telling him to buck up than anything else. Obviously, this year, Yao's been a beast. But for a stretch last year, he was really hard on himself, and everyone was patient with him - and rightfully so.

Swift, IMO, is like that to a greater degree and I think he can do good things for the Rockets if given some encouragement as opposed to constant Van gundy grumpiness.

We need the role players to score if we are to pull out a win. Howard needs to replace Stro. Wesley and Head have got to hit some outside shots.

If he is not motivated to prove himself in this league and prove his doubters wrong -- not to mention up his value for his next contract -- then he's a lost cause and should just hang it up.

I agree the guy needs some serious summer one-on-one coaching/mentoring, but you HAVE to be motivated to improve yourself and become a real contributor in this league.

Him and Kwame seem to be the same type of people...
