I think the Rockets need to let Melo be Melo...his two pointers are more reliable than his threes. If he struggles at the three line, let him do his 2pt business...just like Chris Paul.
Man I did, I really did, he cab get his points but its pointless if hes getting torched on the other end.
Mike: Harden? Earlier he felt tightness. That's why I took him out for a long period. When he made that one drive, he felt it again. He'll be re-evaluated. It's a hamstring. Not sure what type. We'll find out tomorrow. Which hamstring? Good question. I can do a 50/50 guess. Is it serious? I have no idea. We'll find out tomorrow. Like how Carmelo played? Yes. It's funny, I just told the team we got a bunch of new guys, young guys we're trying to sprinke in, figure things out. Bad start. We get it. I saw things tonight we can get better at and work on. It's not that far off. We'll get CP3 back Friday & go from there. We'll do this. This team will be really good. We gotta hang in there, go through our growing pains right now but we'll be fine. What did you see with this team with Chris off the floor? I don't like him off the floor. He gives us so much. We need him. We should be able to win some games though. I saw things we can get better at. If you don't have James, Chris, PJ, Clint, you won't go where we want to go. Doesn't happen that way. He's gotta be on the floor. When James leaves the floor, does the playmaking fall on Gordon? You mean if CP3 is not in there? He could. MCW can help out. There's enough there. Eric did a good job today. Defense was better today. It was better. We can get a lot better. There were things I liked. 2nd half wasn't bad. Anytime our two best shooters are 2-17 from three, you have to grind it out. We didn't do that. We held them to 100. Gotta score more than that. Our offense kinda let us down tonight. Carmelo starting 2nd half? Right now, we gotta look at everything. First of the year, nothing is set in stone. We'll see how it goes Friday. He can start, not start. I don't stay up all day saying who plays the first 3-4 minutes. It's how you finish the game, get in rotations and I thought he was good tonight. PJ was a bear defensively. There's things we did well. We just have to do them better. We held them to 100. Caused 19 turnovers. Our defense was good. It's coming. Our offense let us down tonight. Hang in there guys, we'll be alright. Hang in there.
No Paul, losing Ennis, and then losing Harden when the game was still undecided...just too much of a handicap to overcome. I did like the defensive effort a lot more. Nice to seem actually force some turnovers. They just couldn't make anything from anywhere. I'm losing patience with Capela, though. That guy isn't good enough to coast on his contract like he's some kind of hot shot but that's how he looks to me so far this season. He just seems like he's getting consistently outworked.
Mitchell barely went at him. Maybe a handful of times. We played good team defense tonight. Other side of the court is why we lost.
They haven’t played great defense this season, but the defensive issues have been somewhat over blown. The defense against the Pelicans was bad but they tightened more against the Clippers and it was good enough tonight. If not for the Paul suspension and injuries the Rockets could be 3–1 or at worst 2-2. The thing that can sink the Rockets is injuries.
He went at him multiple times, what are you talking about. He was deliberately trying to get the switch on Melo. Thats the truth man, watch the game man.
I did watch the game. We held the Jazz to 100 points what more do you want from the defense regardless of how many times someone went at Melo. They only scored 100 points. We lost because the offense not the defense. Complaining about how many times they went after Melo makes no sense in this game because we didn't lose the game on the defensive side of the ball it was all on the other side. Its like you guys just like putting down certain players just because....Mitchell going after Melo 5 times today isn't why we lost.
I don't think so We play no defense We have no bench, no PF, no SF. Fertitta is Stingy. We are a lottery team
So that's a logical fallacy. Just because I believe there was an unfair disparity does not mean I think we lost because of FTs. Do I believe it was a factor? Sure. I think the Jazz received at least 8FTs that were gifts from the refs. However, we lost because: MCW sucks. Ennis cannot be played. Gordon missed everything. We have no backup frontcourt. Capela did not show up until the 4th. Paul is out. Harden left the game when we were down 5. FTs were a factor, and I think we deserved more, but no they're not why we lost.
How? I’m saying that there are bad stretches that happen to most teams throughout a season. Additionally, I’m trying to stay positive. I for one am not ready to toss aside the season and give up on my team after 4 games, 2 of which were played w/o CP3 and tonight’s crunch time w/o Harden.
