Jabari Smith is a fine finisher # wise, but let's face it he just does not have much of a vertical, and just lacks the quickness/explosion that others have. He should just work within it - it's fine to lay the ball off the glass if that's what works. Ironiyif you combined Amens leaping and passing with Jabari size and scoring you'd have a superstar level player. Imo Cam is the current best hope for a true star to go with Sengun.
Again with the lies. He’s 6’11 and he is a good rebounder and solid defender. Stats prove this. It’s not “my” boy. He’s our best player, without question. I support all our young guys, unlike you
I got what you mean after reading this. My fault for taking it out of context! That said, my opinion aligns closer to his than yours for what it’s worth (it’s worth nothing)
Why would you say “I could be wrong” when a simple 10 second google search proves that he’s played 79 games last year and 40 games this year.
Bro, Sengun is in NBA's best 25 player statistics right now.. There is only one player in this team who is untouchable is Sengun, Sengun sits on the crown, he is Batman, he is Thor, he is him...what ever we may want to call. No disrespect to our other players, they are all our players, this is a teams sport and l like all of them. But this team is Sengun's team, all others should play their roles around Sengun. l did not give up on Green yet, but with this basketball iq, he can not play in the starting unit in a real NBA team, even not play in a third tier European basketball team. Green selected #2 , he has to show more things to fans, team that he deserved his pick place... It is not about favoring one player over another, we are not their agents and earn money from.them. I want to see performance, just solid and consistent performance from Green. And l believe we have rights to demand this.
Was at the game last night, first live game I've been to since the Harden days. I always notice a lot more in person than I do on tv, and some of this is extremely obvious, but here where I stand on this team - Sengun is by far the Rockets best player, Whitmore likely second best - Jalen Green is not an NBA starter. He is a bench scorer at best and that change needs to happen. - Rockets cannot defend the rim for crap, can't rebound for crap, can't finish around the rim for crap. This team is in desperate need of size - Rockets can't shoot 3s for crap - Rockets can't shoot FTs for crap - Jabari's midrange is a thing of beauty, I wish he'd use it more or Udoka run plays to setup midrange shots for him more - This is the ugliest crew of Rockets dancers of all time. Some of them at least got right and tight bodies, but not all of them.
I support them. I just give honest assessments. If no e of them had flaws we would be 1st place and wouldn't be considering trade proposals.
Literally no one is saying anyone is free from criticism. What you do is fabricate because Alp doesn’t fit the player type you want
In a way you are correct. I don't think he is our best player. I actually think Jabari is, Ive said it before. He offers some of everything, rebounding, defense, and offense. To me that stands out more so, the ability to be an ALL AROUND PLAYER. To be able to be on the floor at ALL TIMES, under any situation. Alpi is only good on the offensive end. And thats good too, because every body contributes in some form. But best player, no.
Alp is literally a better rebounder and offensive player and advanced stats say better defensive player. And I’m a huge Jabari supporter. You can have your opinion but facts don’t support it. Alp is factually the best player on this team
I was actually talking about this year.....looks like he's only missed ONE game instead of 3 or 4 THIS YEAR. My point is that skinny legs and bones and all, he's missed 4 games in a year and a half. So, he has been pretty durable over his year and a half. Don't know about his ankle from last night..could miss more. Meanwhile, we have a couple of players that have been out for an extended time...one who is perpetually out. Not going to Google because it's not that important to me to know the exact amount of games. However,to quote Charles Barkley. "There are people who have had heart bypass surgery that haven't been out as long as Victor.
Alpi shows plenty of versatility on the defensive end here. 81st percentile in deflections, 75th percentile in adjusted defensive turnovers, 79th percentile in rim contests. Nothing eye-popping but he certainly is active, and competent. The activity is particularly impressive when you consider how much of the offensive load he carries. To your credit, his defensive rebounding could be better, but that's offset by his stellar offensive rebounding, 64th and 89th percentiles. I would love to see him getting more defensive rebounds and making those full-court outlet passes to a streaking JG or CW that Kevin Love used to be known for. I think this chart does a good job of showcasing Alpi's all-around game and how he also offers a bit of everything.
I agree but he is 20. Give him time to fill out. And yes Rox have a great young core. I think it is on par with Magic for 2nd best young core after OKC.
