Honestly .. . if he Beasts in the Playoffs . .. . I really don't give a d*mn Rocket River I'll Take Horry over a try everynight and die in the playoffs guy
If Dwight was like 25 years old and has no injury history, I'd be really pissed off if he doesn't give his 100%. But to be honest Dwight's body is old already at 30 years old, and he has been dealing with knee issues all season long to go with back spasms and whatever injuries he's had the last couple of years, it seems that for NBA players who are athletic freaks once you get your first major injury you will never be the same health-wise again. we saw this with Bogut, Yao Ming, Amare etc. all these guys were healthy as an ox and then boom, almost overnight they become injury prone. You seem to be pissed at the guy for giving no effort but if I was Mchale I would be praising Dwight because he found a way to still be an effective defender with minimal effort. I don't want Dwight to give his 100% in a meaningless game against the lottery bound Jazz, I don't want him to get up and personal and bang bodies with nobodies, at the end of the day all you'd have to show up for it are good stats for Dwight and you know what? I don't give a **** what Dwight's stats are as long as the team wins. I want Dwight to save all the bumping and grinding in the playoffs, because the reality is that's when we need him the most. If he's gonna put his knee to the fire let him do it in a game that counts, let him collect all the rebs, blocks and pts he wants there. I don't know if he is doing this deliberately or it's just that he's injured but he should keep this up. At this point in his career he's got to pick his battles, Dwight has already peak it is all downhill from this point on so he should use whatever is left in his tank sparingly. P.S. Dwight (like Shaq) has a great track record of performing in the playoffs, I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt until he fails us. Last year was the same thing, he looked whack in the regular season but in the playoffs he was the only one who showed up and made the matchup into a series, all the "regular season heroes" got owned by their counterparts in Portland.
Who cares. The team is 26-11.....3rd in the West....1st in the SouthWest. If he beasts in the playoffs, that's what matters. This franchise has fizzled for over a decade.... Playing smart like the Spurs (saving bodies) is wise....this is the NBA...most teams make the playoffs, that part is not an achievement...
In the East yeah, but you gotta be careful in the West. A 5 or 6 game slide could take us out of the playoffs.
