Spoon was having his best game of the season and then never got back in the game after getting his 4th foul. JVG instead went with a four guard line-up and we got killed on the boards by Chris frickin Anderson. Along with the fact that no full timeouts were saved for the last 2min, I have to question JVG's coaching decisions in the fourth tonite.

Your selective memory is simply amazing. You remember the times Yao fouls out but DON'T remember the times Yao fouls other teams' players out, small and aggressive or big and strong. Oh wait, I know, that's not ESPN worthy. Yao should be doing that. It's funny cuz I should be the one saying that you don't watch games.

Guess what? Chris Anderson has to defend against Yao too. And if he decides not to, that's perfectly fine by me. Just have Yao go in for the uncontested dunk. That's a high % shot right there.

And yeah, I definitely helped you make a point. You didn't even know what the point was did you? Considering that we scored a total of 73 points, I'd certainly take 18/8, give and take a few from Yao as well as the boatload of open shots we'd get. And that's not even considering his defence.

And also, Yao gets 18/8 DESPITE the zone defence and foul trouble, not BEFORE them.

I'm staying out of this useless "debate", but what makes you Know a team of Sura, Wesley, Spoon, Deke, and maybe MJames or Bowen SHOULD beat the Hornet, as you so much hate everyone else "make a wild, pointless guess"?

Just got home from the nightmare game traffic that was only slightly less irritating than the total lack of an offensive game plan injected by Rainman Gundy!!!

I've become so accustomed to T-Mac actually playing like he cared, especially in 4th quarters that I was in complete disbelief that he disappeared for all but two brief moments in the last 5 minutes....

As ridiculous as T-Mac's lack of effort in the 4th was, his apathy was only exceeded by JVG's total lack of offensive imagination!!

The Hornets have NOBODY inside to block shots and yet the Rockets, just like the game against the Spurs made virtually no effort to take the ball to the rack!!

I know there will be nights when our shooting will be less than we hoped for, but the apathy on offensive was pervasive to the point that I could feel it from my $60 dollar seat!!

(I know Yao is important, but honestly, we played better without T-mac than we did without Yao...)

The combination of inconsistent shooting, poor guard penetration and opponents domination on the board spells first round exit if Rainman doesn't pull his head out.

This is two games in the past week that our beloved Rox have played ball so uninspired that I have serious doubts about paying for more tix unless they make it past the first round!! :( :(

You forgot McGrady was playing, and the reason why I made this "hypothetical" guess (as you like to call it) is actually based on a FACT that as crappy as we were playing, we were up by 19.

We LOST this game, Hornets didn't win it.

"what have you done for me lately?"

Thank you for your wonderful insight, I am sure the Rockets would do wonderful without T-Mac, I mean he has ONLY won like 10+ games by himself this year with his last-minute heroics!

Some of you guys are absolutely pathetic! But your true colors show after a loss, then the YOH start jumping all over him and saying "he stinks!" and "we should trade him!" when he plays bad, and when T-Mac doesn't play well the YOF come out in full force, almost to the degree of 'gloating'.

    How pathetic

and you must be a YOF who only cares about how well he plays. yao does not match up with smaller quicker players. could he have helped us win this game. yes...would he have helped wesley jon barry etc shoot better. no. so shut your yap YOF and start cheering for the team and not the player

You were agreeing with someone who made a statement that we don't need either Yao or Tmac to win this game, and said "exactly my point", check it out.

As to the lead, they can give you when they are cold, they can take it away when they get hotter. It isn't any support.

JVG told his players not to penetrate? not to rebound? not to make the shot?

Having Yao and Juwan Howard out, your only two inside scoring options can significantly **** up your offense execution. Yao and Howard are our only two threats in the paint. With one of them gone((howard), that was enough of a struggle. when they're both out, it's not going to be pretty, as we saw.

The game plan has always been the same. It's the same as it was when the Rockets swept that west coast road trip, the same as it was a few days ago, it's the execution that changes. and anytime you have a combined 60 minutes of floor time that Yao and Howard give you and have to give it to guys like Padgett, Spoon, and Mutumbo, the offensive execution is going to suffer.. a great deal.

being a 'contributing member' does not prevent you from making idiot posts,

nor will it protect you from being banned in this forum.

leave the poor board alone and bring you anger and bitterness somewhere else.

im not saying he would have fouled out but he has trouble guarding smaller forwards and centers (not guards) and yes yao could have been crucial to this game but he would not have helped us make open shots. it was an off night and thats it no explanation needed. i dont know if thats the point you wanted to make if its not let me know. what is funny to me is that the same people who say yao would help us win this game would have been the same people blaming him for the loss. think about that and maybe this loss will be put in perspective for you
