We played really well tonight on both ends of the floor. In the beginning, it looked like the team was trying to set the tone moving the ball around as much as possible.

Yao didn't seem hesitant to shoot. It was more like the game plan was to pass and get everyone involved. I though everyone played great. Yao had a couple of bs calls against him early, but he also fouled several times under the basket without a whistle.

Cat shoots well tonight, give Steve credit to create open shots for him a couple of times. Seems like cat does well against some eastern teams.

Yao's number is just ok because he is in foul trouble early. We can hear JVG complained loudly when yao is not getting the call while fouled.

Go for the next win against grizz!

    Go, Rox

Does anyone notice that recently even when Yao has a very quiet game he still puts up respectable numbers. This is very different from the Yao we knew at the beginning of the year who in a quiet game would score only 10 points. Yao has really matured.

And Stevie played a very good game today. He has finally realized that he needs to penetrate! He penetrated constantly and dished out to Mobley for a 3 or scored an easy layup.

Antother thing I noticed is Cato's very underrated passing skills. He had a great wrap around pass for a Yao dunk and a great lob pass to Yao for a layup. I never knew he was competent at all passing.

Yes. This is what I was just thinking myself. He's at the point where we expect him to get 20 and any thing less is below his newly set standards. The man is a 20 plus point man right now. And thats a good thing.

I think most all of us take not only Yao's new standard for granted, but also that of the team.

The Rockets are leaps and bounds a better team in comparison to the beginning of the season. You can get excited by the improvement with nearly every game that comes. Every game lately seems to be another test. Even the losses in the last couple of weeks are buffered by the realization that the Rockets probably beat themselves.

It's a beautiful thing to see Yao go 17 and 9 and feel that his game was a little down. It's a beautiful thing to look at the boxscore and see the Rockets with a total of 11 TO and then get picky about the 7 TO's in the first quarter. The bar has definitely been raised for the Rox, and they continue to raise it themselves.

Our guys are coming around. We'll make some noise with these final weeks.

Only 4 TO's after the first quarter. That's outstanding.

    "Mother*****r; f*** me!"

Translation: We ain't in the playoffs yet, these guys still quit on me as if it's all over, I hope I don't have a heart attack before the offseason when I can trade one or more of these guys.

    Or words to that effect.

I dont think JVG is of that mind set.
Translation: I am a stressed out perfectionist SOB who demands that his players are perfect and for 30 seconds they weren't so I will make my point by yelling and cursing.

This is exactly what the Rockets need (not being sarcastic) :)

NBA.com has the video of the MJ behind the back pass to Mobley on the break, I just watched it 5 times. :)

Living outside of Houston and not having League Pass... this was one of the more enjoyable games I've been able to see this year. I liked the movement and defense, at least until they lost focus in the 4th...

You could even hear that Cato rejection of Davis in New Mexico.
