ClutchFans Game Thread: Hornets @ Rockets 11/1/2023

I might just! How are people getting their tickets these days? Is there a good app? Do I get better prices if I wait until the game starts? What's the best way? I'm getting married in 17 days so you better believe the budget is getting tight.

 

First of all, congrats! Big day!

Second I usually get mine on Seatgeek. I haven't done extensive research on if that's the best value app, but I feel good about the prices. I used to live downtown Houston and me and my wife would wait for prices to creep down as the game got closer and noticed prices do typically drop... sometimes be a good amount.

For this Charlotte game the prices are probably 20-25% the prices of the Lakers game. If you haven't gone much I would say the behind the basket seat prices are very tempting but I would try to sit closer to mid court based on your budget. Even the seats that are about 20-40% angles from the edge of the court aren't bad and they start out at around row 4 (I think) so even row 8 there isn't too bad.

I feel today will be a good game to go to because you bet Ime is going to have these guys ready for their first win and I think they've played enough games to have somewhat of cohesion - at least compared to the first game, but not nearly as much as they will have seasons-end.

Not to ruin the vibes but Rockets is likely also circled on their calendar as a winnable.

Footnotes:
a. like amen, Brandon has also been coming off the bench. Brandon has also been shooting well (as of late).
b. Pistons beat the Hornets by being very physical.
c. Lamelo was foul prone last year, his could also be over compensating to show he isn't fouling (matador def). Candidate to be attacked on offense.
d. Rozier is their leading scorer, don't let him go off like Vassell and Cole Anthony.

Hornets could light us up if defense is not on point. Their defense is not good but our offense isn't good either. I don't think we can out score them, but defense and getting more possessions is key.

Memphis is not as good as expected and Dallas is better than expected.

We shouldn't expect this to be an easy win, Charlotte was a 27 win team last year and they're pretty much the same group of young talent plus Miller, so they should be expecting to take a step forward from experience. On talent I have them right around our level.

But this is one we really need, so go get it.

 

If we lose tonight, time to start a few Fire Udoka threads.

 

There's no easy wins for the team that's the worst in the NBA for the last 2 years. Every win will be hard fought

 

I know ima get aggravated watching LaMelo out play JG tonight lol

 

Its been the worst for the last 3 years not 2. 3 years ago they won a whopping 17 games
