Too many missed layups, Scola, Hayes, and Yao each missed point blank layups.
I thought the D was quite good against the pick and roll for most of the night, but Yao was abused on that last drive by Chris Paul. The team played pretty well other than the bad first half turnovers, and the non-foul/turnovers by Yao at the end.
Oh, and what was Luther doing on that pull up 3 he airballed when New Orleans had 3 guys back and Rox 2.
Chuck is losing his grip on the starting job and his playing time, as soon as Landry shows any semblence of defensive ability on the block(if he does) he is going to steal Chuck's playing time. Scola has really proved himself lately, he is going to be key for this team.
Lastly, AB got a little 3 point shot happy today, he needs to remember penetration is what makes him so valuable to this team.

Rybo won the game for NO. 2/5 in jumpers, 2 steals, 0 TO, amazing. While our scrub Hayes missed another wide open layup under the basket and got 2 TOs and got owned by David West. That missed layup should be a dunk by Carl Landry. The NO scrub beat us. No doubt!

after so many years of being a rockets fan, i've learned not to expect the team to win every game. i've also learned to accept some tough losses, like the ones in denver and boston.

but after so many years, i'm still mad after losses like today's game - a game we would've and should've had.

"He didn't strip him; he fouled him," Adelman said of Chandler's steals. "That play there, superstars are supposed to get calls. He doesn't get calls. It's as simple as that. That's a huge play. That's a five-point play, went the other way.

    "That's my opinion. That's the film's opinion."

Yao said he was told that Chandler did hit his hand, but that is not a foul.

"I went to try to talk to the officials," Yao said. "I said, 'He my hand.' He said, 'The hand and the ball is the same.' On the first one, he grabbed my arm. That's why I lost control. But anyway, those turnovers were on me. That turned around the game."

    (from the chronicle)

    how ****ed up is that?

Simply put, they are not good enough. I was never nervous at the end of a close game when the Rockets were playing, say, the Knicks. The inability to close a game demonstrates that you still have a long way to go. Elite teams don't talke about "moral wins".

Bonzi's play of late seems really really lazy. There have been quite a few times where he did not step forward towards a pass or rebound, resulting in the opposing team getting the ball due to hustle. Defensively hes been really slow on rotations as well.

can't agree more - scola needs to start to further boost his confidence. i was screaming at the tv when he passed up open shots late in the fourth. he also has a good back-to-basket game that is currently underutlized (if you watched the FIBA Americas you'd know what I mean). they should run some post plays for him instead of playing Yao on the low post all night long. Yao has a mid-range game too and the 2 should alternate to give the opponent different looks.

All the shooters -- Brooks, Rafer, Head, Shane, went cold in one of the most important game in this span!

I wonder if they gave MJ some minites today, things might be a bit different...

i don't think you got my point. but that's alright.

say the knicks? did you know before they played us they only lost to the spurs at san antonio by 4pts? if duncan got the treatment yao got today, the knicks might've very well won. in any close game, 1 or 2 bad calls can tip the game either way, and easily.

and the lowly knicks did win against the almighty detroit tonight, and by a wide margin. what do you mean "not good enough"? this is a professional league. anything could happen on any given night.

Like you said, each and every time. So I was wonder maybe around league they just let that type of foul go most of times. Then I watch other teams play, no they call it whenever Ducan got touched by hands, and they call it pretty much on very occassion of two hands foul.

Yao gets hacked by two hands 99% of time. Maybe if they start calling it, the game will be so distorted that opposing team entir front line will be fouled out before half time. So NBA decides to screw Yao.

Also the other day, you heard Bill and Bull mentioned refs call Yao a plodder, and that was why fouls not called for him. That was the most fxxked up I have ever heard. I say Yao should protest and even threaten to quit NBA. That ought to make NBA think twice.

Pretty frustrating that the officials develop cataracts while Yao gets his arms amputated twice in the low block. But, then on the other end the officials get their whistles back in their pie hole because someones hair follicle was offended by a drop of sweat for a three point play. Unreal.

Now, after a few hours, I can come back to here and post something.

I can say we are a good team now.
We played an elite team and almost beat them. We make so many mistakes, layups, 3s, FTs.... and we still have good chance to win it (f king refs).

    Go Rockets.

After Tmac come back, we will run. Belive it.
