It's not going to be about Harden. Forgot which "superstar" said it, but the man in front of them isn't going to be the one stopping them. It's the second line that determines whether they'll attack or not. A lot it's gonna be on Dwight to deter Lebron, Wade, AND Bosh. The VAST majority of Lebron and Wades shots come in the paint, more so than any other star perimeter players. More than 50% of both of their shots come in the paint. As a reference, only 33% of Paul George's shots come in the paint. Only ~40% of Durant and Harden's shots come in the paint. 26% of Curry's shots are in the paint. 34% of CP3's. 30% of Melo's. Basically trying to say that it's gonna be on Dwight to carry us on both ends of the court. Those guys love to attack the basket any time the opposing team's center has drifted away from guarding it (which Bosh is usually responsible for)
I really feel Dwight and Asik is the X factor in this game. Dominating the boards and protecting the paint is a big step in defeating Miami especially if they get going. Miami is such a tricky team to stop because they have 3 offensive juggernauts in Lebron, Wade and Bosh...so you can't really just help out on Lebron too much or you get punished. Just make sure to protect the paint and that theyre outside shots don't fall
An excellent point. As IND proved in the playoffs last season. And the Spurs for that matter. If you let the Heat get into the paint the game is in all probability lost. The Heat do have the talent to win games from the outside, but it is much less likely. I hope that Asik is ready too. It is going to be a long night for Rockets fans.
Got to make up for that lost to the Clippers... Would be good to see these youngsters beat the heat tonight.
It's tomorrow night...? Good. Another day off won't hurt. I just don't want to match up with the Clippers in the 1st round.
