It takes time to develop a PG. Hope Luther will grow. With his shooting skill, he could be a better PG than RA. I just hope it would not take long....

imho, he just has really bad handles. either it will take a long time, or head will never ever be a pg, nothing against head, but i think more of the latter.

by the way, FREE VSPAN :D

I said he wasn't doing it to the best of his ability. I mean, don't they actually practice with him on the court? Because it doesn't look like he does. Sometimes Head just looks like a deer in the headlights.

JVG has to get a backup PG up to par and soon or else the playoffs will be tough cuz Head is so not clutch right now. He needs work.

I could be wrong though since I have a functional knowledge of what goes on but I cant like qoute stats off the top of my head.

    two things:

    1. learn to shoot free throws, god dammit.
    2. never, NEVER let head handle backup PG duty. NEVER.

It's not pretty, but I don't see any other way around it, unless you want to drastically cut Head's minutes. An Alston and Head backcourt just doesn't seem to work except for short spurts, which leaves Head to play the PG position alongside T-Mac if he wants to stay on the court. And given his hot shooting in the 4th, we want him on the court.

Rockets win = Opportunity to debate which scrub PG should have played more.

    Seriously.

I wonder if this lunacy would stop if/when the team finally gets that vetran PG to backup or start.

It isn't JVG's job to teach a man to dribble and have court vision. At best somthing like that may fall on the assistants. Luther is a natural 2. His skills fit that criteria and he really shouldn't be forced into a different role simply based on his height and our team's lack of forsight in the offseason (I mean Sura?[/i} Come on).

No, the guy on our team that could possibly develop to fill the backup PG spot is Span. Since that isn't likely to happen this season, we really need to pull off something before tomorrow afternoon.

Man, Wade looked like he was going to start sobbing. Can't imagine how bad that hurt.

I agree. Right now the onus is on Luther to work on his handles. It's not like he's the first guy in the league who has had that problem ... lots of good players have had to improve aspects of their game as their career progressed. It's only his 2nd year in the league, and it's obvious that his priority this offseason needs to be ballhandling and learning how to run an offense. If he can become decent at that, we could have our very own version of Leandro Barbosa.

    Luther's hands are too small.

Billups, Payton, Artest, and Fisher are just a few of the ones that had to learn how to dribble better. It's definitely possible for Lu, but he has to be the one to take the initiative, or find himself eventually replaced.

the game would not have been as close as it was had the refs called the (at least) 5 travels on shaq.

Well there. I stand corrected. Head needs to to spend some quality time with his basketball either way though.

You could say the same thing about Francis, but if there was one thing that man could do, it was dribble (throughout the entire shot clock).
