Dragic wouldn't help. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective.

We should just move Harden to PG and then get another true SG to compliment him.

This is actually a really good post. Your points 2 and 3 are so true. Ariza and Bev on offense when Harden sits is like a train wreck. When Harden is in and he gets the ball taken out of his hands it's even worse. I hardly ever see Bev or Ariza make a good play with the ball. To be fair to Ariza he should never be put in the position to do that. He needs to just be Shane Battier on offense.

Bev no excuse though. He plays the PG position. He needs to be able to get his teammates involved and run the offense at least somewhat. He is painfully bad at that. This team needs an upgrade at PG more than anything else.

Harden can't defend any PG. If harden plays PG, then Brooks can score 30p

Where is the thread that talks about how Beverley is killing our offense? Can we sign a petition to only let Bev shoot 3s and get offensive rebounds on that side of the court? plz.

I'm not even gonna harp on the horrible officiating -- haven't read through the thread, but I feel comfortable assuming it's been sufficiently addressed.

That said, I don't really know what to make of this team. Some nights I watch and feel optimistic. Sometimes you get the squad who can rely on its defense when shots aren't falling -- the squad where Black and Dorsey are rolling to the basket for easy dunks, instead of relying so heavily on outside shooting. The squad where Papa is creating for others, Harden and/or Canaan are collapsing the defense and finding open shooters, and guys are taking care of the ball. Those nights, I think this team will be hell on wheels when all of the moving parts are healthy and gelling.

Then there are nights like tonight, where I see the team that people predicted might miss the playoffs. A gimmicky offense predicated on the success or failure of 3-point shooting. Lackadaisical, noncommittal defense. DMo back to looking mediocre, not co-existing all that well with Dwight. Ariza out of his depth offensively. Nights like these, I wonder if those other nights are just a fluke.

I'm prone to overreacting to losses, so maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow. Right now, I can't call it.

imo bev's biggest shortcoming for this team is his inability to make quick post entry passes. for both dmo and dwight, he is a frustratingly unconfident passer into the post who time and time again hesitates and ends up throwing it in too late or sometimes just pulls back altogether and swings the ball around the perimeter instead. also many possessions he holds the ball and basically pulls our big man further away from the basket to make the pass easier -- instead of just moving around himself for a better passing angle!

Meh... Honestly the Western Conference is so brutal, I really don't think home court matters. And honestly the Rockets have played much better on the road this season IMO. These losses are annoying, but I'm not too concerned, just get in and anything can happen

Howard made 70% of his shots, yet he had the least FG attempts among 5 starters.

    Sigh. Tough loss again.

I don't know if the Rockets can score enough points to beat Portland.

Pretty much this. I'm not seeing enough consistent high level play to really feel terribly confident right now. The offense just is disastrous at times.

The icing on the cake was the no-call on a way more obvious travel by Portland 20 seconds later.

If we're not going to play Canaan get rid of him. This was totally ridiculous tonight playing Terry, Johnson together with Ariza while Harden and Kostas sat. Just pathetic. Stupidly pathetic.

With the eye test  I thought DMO played well in the first half... I think he was tied for our team lead scorer, but i notice several time that Ariz and PBev passed him up on the block... Of course hes going to look bad by the end of the night if hes shooting 3s, thats not his game an we all know that.

    STAY INSIDE BIG GUY!!!

Especially PBev. There were like 3 times he specifically didn't pass into DMo when he had position. I have no idea why.

Maybe I'm irrationally confident but when he has position I want the ball in his hands, and I feel great about it.

Once instead of passing to DMo he passed to Ariza for some horrible three pointer. Just bad.
