His career might be over, he has not looked good at all this year outside of 2 games here when we first got him back.

Houston Rockets 130, Memphis Grizzlies 81: Everything went better than expected
by FORREST WALKER | MARCH 14, 2016 at 09:32 PM

It turns out that at a point, talent and continuity actually do win out. The Rockets have been plumbing that depth all season, and they finally found it against a Memphis Grizzlies squad that’s missing, well, the Memphis Grizzlies. Without Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley, Vince Carter, Lance Stephenson and the recently waived and very injured Mario Chalmers, the Grizzlies had little chance against a healthy Rockets squad that might finally, finally, understand what’s at stake. It wasn’t a win over a scary team, but it was the Rockets taking care of business with authority, and right now that’s a massive improvement.
The heroes of the night were Donatas Motiejunas and, yes, Michael Beasley. As far as Beasley is concerned, he’s been destroying teams in China, and this Grizzlies team may be closer to a CBA team than an NBA team right now. He was aggressive on the boards, played good defense, and wasn’t afraid to shoot. Motiejunas shot too, scoring 18 points on 14 shots tonight. His post moves looked as sweet as ever, he ran the break, and he hit a three. That Detroit draft pick would have been great, but Motiejunas is more than a mere consolation for Houston in that canceled trade.
James Harden and Dwight Howard did their thing, but it was really Patrick Beverley who surprised in the starting lineup. His 4/8 three point shooting came early in the game and helped the Rockets actually win a first quarter for once. Harden, for his part, looked to pass to his teammates and ended with 8 assists in a mere 25 minutes. His 15 points and 7 rebounds only added to a very nice night for Harden, in which he and the starters earned their rest.
There’s not a lot to say about a game in which the Rockets look like the Rockets and absolutely vaporize the Grizzlies’ C-string. They would have died of shame if they lost, and instead they dominated. It’s not really a mark of honor, but it’s better than most of us expected. The Rockets may be rounding into form at just the right time. Or maybe they aren’t. You can never tell with this team. Either way, this was a win you don’t feel bad about, and the Rockets need as many of those as possible.

No doubt! We scored at least 31 points in each quarter and 9 players were in double figures scoring, with no one above at 20 or above. Balance from top to bottom and from quarter to quarter.

Our route gets no love on any website, if this had been any other team, it would've been frontpage regardless of injury depleted opponent.

You're wrong, DD, with all due respect. DM didn't trade for my dude because of injuries. He's thirty. At that point, players have injuries. IF you have coached, you know that. Heck, my 19 year olds in AZ have bum hips, ankles, achilles and what not regularly. It happens.

Is his leg/hiph flexor hurting? definitely. That's why he's been resting and from what I see, you seem to forget his locker room presence. He has been know to keep teams tough through rough rides.

You're also underestimating his defense in the post. When he and Dwight are in there, when healthy, they are a great defensive duo.

Smith is healing, from what I'm told. He'll be back out there about 8 games before the playoffs, and then he'll be played on matchups.

You're absolutely ridiculous if you think he's done. He's relatively young and has some minor injures. Blame LAC for not playing him and he's privately admitted enough through friends that his health was all but forgotten with the Clips.

He'll be back, he's got natural chemistry with Dwight and other bigs. He doesn't care about his points. He wants to help. Josh is a genuine guy and I know this from personal experience.

We disagree how his career accolades (Even though I know you're an educated man, but his stats are far, far from mediocre. I don't know what you were expecting: LaMarcus?!?! But, ANY expert will tell you that, when healthy, JSmoove is one of the few players that can do things that guards and forwards can do. He doesn't have the shooting touch of Beas, but Beas doesn't have the defense of Smooth. If you don't believe me and my personal ties to J, look at what JVG discusses. He loves Smith, but he wants him in the post where he is most effective. He's great down there. Admittedly, I blame JB, who I think is going to be a great head coach down the line somewhere, but he needs JSmoov next to Dwight/Beas/DMo/TJ/Montrezl/Clint :(.

I know you LOVE LOVE LOVE DMo, but he is still healing, whether you like it or not. His minutes will increase, but until then, be thankful for some added depth with LeanDrinkBeas, better Montrezl play and the fact that TJ will be back. We're going to have more depth. DMo will deliver in the playoffs, but DM/JB/Doctors are resting his minutes and raising them gradually. As I mentioned in the past, I have a decent relationship with Rasheed, along with his ties to this Pistons. I AM NOT DROPPING A CYBER Bomb (We have different friends), but there is more than likely going to be an investigation about the DMo trade. Something is fishy. That should give you some peace for your dude (respectfully).

Here's the kicker: The relationship between Dwight and J is strained right now. YOu can see it on the court, but at the end of the day they are brothers. They're getting better, but from an Ear, Dwight was not thrilled that Josh left for the enemy in LAC. The person who brought J back was DM. Period.

    #6th seed or Bust!!!

Id rather use smith than brewer and all season i have been waiting for mcdaniels to have a chance to play.. This gayish bickerstaff always finds playing time for his boy toy brewer!... Brewer is a nice but mcdaniels is a more reliable upgrade!

Rockets gained a full POINT on their point differential last night with the win. Now we are minus .6 for the year.

Josh Smith is obsolete! Beasley is a better version of Smith!

So this is what it looks like when a d-league team plays an NBA team.

And thanks Codman for the update on Smith. It gives me hope that he'll get his mojo back if and when he heals completely.

What a fun game to watch. I really enjoyed watching the energetic show our bench put in. With our new additions and promising rookies I see a brighter future ahead. Jet was hot with those 3's!
