It will be closer than we want it to be, but the Rockets pull it out.

    Rockets-88
    Grizzlies-79

The Rockets can definitely lose this game. With Pau back, the Grizz have enough talent. With Fratello gone they could come out and play with energy, at least for the first few games.

If the Rockets play intense and don't take this game lightly, we will win, no doubt. If Tracy is on fire it may not be close. But if they are still feeling good after clobbering the Hawks the Grizz will take the game.

Hmmm, I just read the recap of the Grizzlies-Raptors game, and it said that the Grizzlies are going for a 'fun' style of basketball, drawing as little plays as possible and letting the players play on their own accord. If the new coach continues this, it would mean a game of two opposites going head to head, JVG with his hard book, defensive style, against the Grizzlies with an up-tempo, free for all game. If we can control the tempo to our standard, we should win, if not, Alston will probably go crazy along with T-Mac and it will become a shootout, something we didn't do quite well against the Suns.

The sharp contrast from Fratello and the fresh start will motivate the Grizz players for a few games. Eventually the newness will wear off and they will play at whatever level they belong. But my concern is they will play above their heads for the next 4-5 games and we could be a victim. I wish Fratello was fired right after tonight.

Interesting what the new coach said about Gay:

"He's going to play minutes. If he's dying, he's going to play minutes. I told him, 'Don't look over to the bench to me because you're tired, because you're not coming out. You will die. You'll be the first player who died on the basketball court because you're tired.' He's going to play minutes and he's going to produce."

Does this mean that this running and free for all style is taking a major impact on player's stamina? If so, than this second game of a back-to-back should be absolutely great for hte Rocket who should be facing a tired Grizzlies team. Barone said that Pau was also feeling absolutely dead on his feet, good news for us, we are fresh off a good victory off the Hawks and they've just run themselves out of the gym and have little rest between the two games. With this in mind, I'm more optimistic at the Rockets chance of winning.

No way we lose tonight. The grizz barely beat a raptors team without chris bosh and tj ford.

Shawn Marion, when he was a rookie, once almost dunked in his own basket after a jumpball, and just managed to throw the ball away from the rim mid-jump to a team mate behind him. It was one of the funniest NBA bloopers I've ever seen!

We have nothing to worry about, they beat the Raps by 6 points, and the Raptors didnt even have Morris Peterson and T.J Ford played only one half.

Rockets win by 1 point. They will struggle defending the new Memphis offense, because there is not enough tape to know how to defend them. Memphis will shoot over 47% today.

Nahh I dont think so, they are playing back to back games, and they are facing the best defensive team, opp teams average 88.8 ppg and 41.5% field goal against us, and the new coach of the Grizzlies stated Pau Gasol was tired as hell after the game.

Shouldn't be a problem today. Rockets should win by a wide margin. T-Mac continues his hot streak by dropping 31 pts again and dishing out 8 assists. Head, Jho, Bonzi and Lucas all in double figures in pts. This will be bonzi's best game so far as a rocket, hitting 8-11 from the field and going to the line 8 times. Final score Rockets 105 - 98 Grizzlies.
