if vspan plays 20 minutes or more, we win by 30
if vspan plays less than 20 minutes, it will be a close one

Stromile Swift and Deke have the most experience guarding Yao. It should be interesting to see Swift guard Yao in a real game. Yao always has problems in the 4th especially against quick athletic guys like Swift. With his experience guarding Yao, speed, and need for revenge, we will be in for a surprise.

Do I really believe that? Naaahhh...

    It still could happen.

Eh, to put it mildly, Yao held his own pretty well against Swift in the 4th quarter when the two teams played against each other last time.

I'd be more interested in Battier. In case anyone missed, Kelly took another swipe at Battier's "tangibles" in the latest weekly NBA players power ranking column ... LOL

Did anyone also know Battier has the lowest FT% on this Rockets team at 56% on 9-16 shooting? Granted the sample size is too small and the season is still early, and I am still his supporter, but his lack of production in offense starts to concern me.

A little late to the party with this, but I wanted to mention it, especially with all the fuss about Bonzo not being around the team during games..

As I was DVR-ing that big 3 late by Rafer ( the one where TMac drew the defense and kicked it out to Alston, pretty much the game-winner), as I was watching the ball in slo-mo arching high in the air, and beginning its dexcent to the basket, I notice, in the background, one individual in a dark jacket and street clothes who is totally into the game, totally into the moment, standing, his fist in the air, every pore oozing competitive fire.

    Bonzi? No.

    Good ol' Bobby.

Dude has not played in a year and a half, has not been healthy since long before that, and yet there he is, giving everything he can give in his situation, living, breathing and bleeding Rockets Red, busting his A$$ to be able to get back and get back IN there, because competing and winning are all this guy cares about.

Compare and contrast to Bonzo, who gives apathy itself a bad name.

Now maybe Wells eventually pulls his head out of his rear end at some point this year, and maybe he actually manages to contribute to some of our success. Maybe. Frankly, I will shed no tears if that never happens.

However, the day Bobby steps back onto the court will be a great great day for this team. Even if it's mostly symbolic, even if his body simply refuses to ever allow him to do what his mind and heart burn to do, he will have given this team, and especially our young players, a gift that someone like Bonzo will never be able to comprehend: Heart. Dedication. Desire. Spirit. Fighting even after all hope seems lost. Never accepting failure or defeat. Even if Sura never makes another meaningful basketball play in his career, if even a little of his character and toughness rubs off on people like Head, Novak, V-Span, even TMac and Yao, then his contribution will have been invaluable.

It's a crying shame that guys like Sura and Barry weren't signed here ten years ago instead of only two. The other shame is that we have a turdbird like Wells lurking in the shadows.

I mention all this here simply because I think will be interesting to occasionally see Sura there on the bench, like a caged tiger. All the while asking ourselves, 'Where's Bonzi?

I think our talent is such that we should blow this game wide open. I also think that we should be careful not to overlook any one or play to the level of our competition. If, and this is a big if, we play our game we should come out the victor. This is the NBA and on any night any team can be beaten. Right now they are a team with nothing to lose, but another game. I say be cautious and aggressive. No let down.

This is a test of our killer instinct. If we don't win by over 10 points, then this is the same team as last year's.

No suprise here, Bob Sura is a team player. I've seen him at most of the home games this season, cheering on his team mates.
