I think this game sums up Nick Johnson chances at PG minutes w/o Harden out there. IMO

Tarik saying all the right things in that interview, nice.

 

Harden in mid-season form, Ariza is better than Parsons and Tarik could be our new Chuck Hayes. Our regular PFs decided to alternate their Jekyll/Hyde personalities by TJ having a good night and DMo sucking it.

 

I think Black is a keeper. Big body, very strong, and seems to be a much better defender than Greg Smith was here.

I'm also thinking Covington doesn't make the team this year.

 

While I loved the play of Jeff Adrien in this game, I'm really hoping Tarik Black proves he can play like this regularly. And I don't mean that I'm hoping he can average a double double with 15 boards. That's more than a little unrealistic. I just hope he can maintain this level of effort and defensive play. Obviously if he can continue to grab boards that'd be huge. Adrien looks like a great hustle guy off the bench, but Black has the size we need.

I'm liking Papanikolau too. Ariza is looking like a wonderful fit. I'm just thrilled to see such a strong defensive performance from our guys.

 

The Rockets need more roster spots. Tarik Black needs to make this team! If he ends up getting cut hopefully he can stick around with the Vipers.

 

Nick Johnson isn't a point guard. He won't ever be a point guard. If we play him at point it could get ugly real fast.

Covington, Canaan, and Daniels can shoot like crazy.

Black might make this team.

 

Tarik Black is a visual learner. Never thought an NBA player would say that. Pretty smart.

I think we have good pick-ups in these role players who are ready to play on Oct 22nd. DMorey still rules!

Is that defense the result of Dunn's coaching already? Good showing tonight

ALL of our big men played pretty well tonight, especially in the first half. Garcia and Caanan and Johnson sucked .

 

I just assumed Tarik would get cut & sent to RGV. Not so sure anymore.

 

Adrian, Black, Dorsey....Rockets bout that defense & rebounding!

 

DMo is so frustratingly inconsistent. Covington has always looked like hot garbage to me, I don't know why they're so high on him. Love Troy Daniels.

 

Black has been a surprise.

Adrien and Black both look good. So does Ish Smith.

Canaan doesn't look good. Covington looks meh.

 

Black and Adrien are keepers. Dorsey better show up in practices or else. Black at 6'11" can back up Dwight.

I think for the 15th slot, it will be a toss-up between Johnson and Dorsey. Sorry to Covington but his skillset is duplicated by Daniels and Canaan.
