Officiating was bad both ways, so hate all you want, it's the truth. Sure those 2 calls at the end were against us, but it was not some conspiracy. They have been changing calls after reviews a lot more lately.

The problem isn't with this rule in and of itself, he problem resides solely with this incompetent referee.

The reason it is considered out of bounds when anball touches a ref, is because the referee is supposed to be standing out of bounds or on the baseline. Thus, if it touches him, it's clear the ball was traveling out of bounds.

This isn't a circumstance like that. This ref has no business being in the middle of the action like that. It should be considered a "referee interference" and a 14 second side ball or similar to a kick ball IMO.

You can blame the forwards, James harden, mda, whoever you want. Down 4 with a minute to go and the ball, I have absolute confidence we can and will close out and win this game.

I would even accept this loss if this was a lazy turnover from James and even fault him. But this isn't on him. This is a pass him and ego have great chemistry on. It's a pass he makes in his sleep which is why he passes it blind.

But to watch it bounce off the ref and then see them give the ball to Memphis was defeating. That sealed the game. The players were all visibly upset over it and disheartened.

The referee should be fined or whatever discourse they have that disciplines bad officiating. Because that was rec league level officiating.

Nobody mentioned any conspiracy. All I posted was that the horrendous officiating benefited Memphis more than us. They got calls that we didn't, especially in the 4th quarter. You can't review a flagrant foul and then make a offensive call from the review btw

Ref was bad and is a factor in the loss. But 4th quarter execution was worse and a bigger factor in the loss.

The officiating was bad. yes. And that was an issue. But beyond that....

It is clear as day in MDA's offense the Rockets need PGs to be the engine to run the offense. And needs 2 of Harden/Gordon/CP on the court at all times. If there are 1) injuries, 2) foul trouble 3) general maintenance that eats into those lineups. Also, EG got gassed late because he was over used. Played brilliantly earlier.

Sure Ariza/Anderson/Moute/Tucker need to shoot better as end points to those PG passes, but also Morey is going to have to find a way to add a component PG to run the team when needed. If the Rockets have CP in this game they win it. If they have a "Jameer Nelson" type PG they win it.

How many 50/50 games will the Rockets lose while CP is out because of this shortcoming?

At the end of the season, when wins matter for seeding, we can look back to this part of the year and see the 50/50 games lost because of this.

Rockets will figure this out. Kudos to Memphis for playing tough. Rockets get 3 more cracks at them coming up and I hope they take the fight to them.

The refs were bad. That ref that stood in the middle of the play should be reprimanded. But for the most part the Grizz were simply more composed than us. They not only hit their threes, but they moved the ball and cut to the basket for easy layups/and 1's. And they defended us very well. I would say this should be a learning experience for us, but it's been a problem for years.

So begs the question ... are they really gonna get by with Demetrius Jackson & Briante Weber while running Harden into the ground again until Paul comes back? (And I guess doses of Eric Gordon running the show)

That's a brilliant plan Mike! Just blow teams out & James will get his rest. :D:rolleyes:

I guess we'll have to see. But one thing is for certain, while CP is out, either Harden or Gordon has to be on the floor at all times. And that rotation can easily be up ended up foul problems. Jackson and Weber can be decent PG defenders but offer nothing in terms of a PG running a team.

MDA needs PG to run the engine.

    and now this...... UGH!

It was a good game to watch. Sure the refs suck but that's not why we lost. Not concerned

Just an awful loss. That 4th quarter implosion was pathetic. One of the worst officiated games I remember, and unfortunately most of the atrocious calls seemed to go against the Rockets. Regardless, we still should have been able to win this one. This game highlighted all the worst parts of our team. Harden playing like a bum in the 4th, offense stagnant, defensive breakdowns, lack of composure, poor coaching, it was all bad.

60 win team my ass, they got a lot of work to do. There's gonna be a ton of games this season where you need to grind it out against a less talented opponent. This pisses me off smh.
