    Starters looked good.

Lin - 27 mins, 7 points (3/9 fga, 0/2 ft) 12 assists, 4 steals, 1 TO (ball bounced off Asik's foot)... should have been 5/11 and 11 points, but had 2 baskets rolled back due to Asik being called on moving picks... twice. Best game we've seen from him in the pre-season.

    Asik - 20 mins, 9 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block, 2 TO... fouled out.

Parsons looked pretty decent, as did K-mart (limited minutes).

Would post the other stats, but just went offline on ESPN and NBA box score is messed up.

Bench was pretty messy except when Lin was overlapping.

Douglas' stint he didn't PG much, he was mostly shooting.

Machado ... didn't play many minutes, but in that short time made a couple good passes, had a turn over, and got burned on D more than a few times going the wrong direction.

Bench Defense was pretty awful. Multiple times no boxing out (including on FT's)... players running ahead before the rebound was secured, very little help defense rotation and not great on close outs.

They really need to sort out the Bench D at a minimum or other teams will just run up the scoreboard whenever the starters are out.

All in all though, still one of the better Rockets games and the best overall from the starters I think.

The last I saw of kmart, I would say his game was better than " pretty decent".

We saw what the rotation is going to be tonight. Delfino, Jones, and Douglas getting the bulk of the minutes from the bench. Lamb and D-mo might get a few minutes on some nights.

Asik still needs to learn to control his fouls. He needs to know that he's too important for this team not to be on the court. If he fouled out in 20 minutes against Gasol and Randoph, he wouldn't last more than 10 minutes against Dwight Howard.

It's OK- Dwight will be too busy trying to catch D-Mo.

Lin's defensive play is almost back to normal....... He had 4 steals, but caused maybe 4 more Griz TO's that won't show up in the stat sheet.........

I say "almost" because his man did lose him and score on a few plays.

Lin has also had some bad luck whenever he's made 3-pt shots...... A 3-second violation (in Jazz game) and a moving screen foul (in this game)..... That air ball early in the game was ugly.

Not used to seeing him miss FTs....... He's about an 85 percent FT shooter. And was over 90 percent during his last 8 games last season. Lin will likely lead the Rockets in FT attempts, because he's a penetrate first player.

He's too light to be "hard", needs more muscles.

Telling to be hard right now is like telling Kmart to bang in the paint

This win will make the 1-week wait almost tolerable.

Rockets shot 50% from the field and 40% from 3. If only they were better at shooting free throws, they would've have Steve Nashian efficiency.

The 46-46 tie on rebounds was a good sign, given how good Memphis is inside. Asik fouled out, but he kept M Gasol in check while he was in. Lin did fine. 29-17 advantage on assists, and it wasn't just Lin. The team is unselfish.

Lin ran the team well, Rockets look much more in control when he's in. Machado is more like a Earl Boykins, penetrates, dribbles around and gets assists, but the team looks a bit more dysfunctional. But he's a good prospect, may not even go to D-League if Douglas doesn't run the show better.

White with some nice passes, and a rookie turnover. The hand-off to Lamb was something we saw him do a lot in college. And the passes to D-Mo were nice as well. Could have had 4 assists in 4 minutes if the shots fell.

Worried about all the rookie mistakes, except for T Jones. He looks ready for real games. Lamb looked like he had checked out of the game, 3 minutes before Clutch went to post-game analysis mode.

We'll need Parsons to play like this a lot. All-round game, registered for rebounds, assists and steals, and Rudy Gay went 4-16. Carfino (sounds good!) finally heated up.

This game also looks like the first time McHale went with his rotation guys and minutes. The cuts will probably be Livingston, JJ Johnson and Jon Brockman. If Morey prefers to keep Livingston's contract, then maybe Greg Smith. But it's better to keep two guys with big hands on the roster.

lamb just looks lazy out there, with little effort.
    royce still looks lost
    dmo still too soft.

terrence jones is our best rookie so far.
