HAve the ROckets ever beaten the Clippers with Bev as the starting PG? No. Chill out, he's Chris Freaking Paul. Along with Harden/Howard/Parsons and a solid bench (maybe now down to descent with Lin inserted in starting lineup), now you also want a PG that you feel comfortable enough to go toe to toe and hang with CP3??

Turning into freaking yankee fans who want all stars at every position.

clippers won the other 3 season games against us by double digits. Now, dwight and beverley are injured also. Sorry but the result is obvious. (i would be glad to be wrong in this though)

Maybe he thinks Bev was more or less Paul's equivalent.

I think Bev is more overrated now than Lin was.

Eh, even without Dwight and Beverley, I wouldn't be surprised to see us win. If the Rockets play inspired ball it can happen. Clippers are on a long road trip and expended lots of energy on the Mavs a couple days ago.

we have no one to really backup asik.

usually in that situation, we would just play small ball.

    but bev is out...

    so...

our rotations are gonna be wonky. the chemistry is going to be off. lin is going to have to play pretty careful to avoid injury...

plus blake griffin is playing like a hall of famer right now.

i'll watch, but i'm braced for a pretty bad loss.

I think we're underdogs for sure. That said, our ONLY win against the Clippers in the last 2 years was with Asik, Lin, Harden, and Parsons as the starters.

That said the Clippers are even better this year, so I'm not all THAT hopeful.

On the bright side, beating the Clippers in the West seeding race might be counterproductive anyways. I don't think that's as true with the Blazers dropping - Warriors aren't an easy out if they get 5 and 3-0 records against the Spurs is beyond meaningless IMO. But getting third and facing a Grizzlies-Thunder-Spurs gauntlet would be the worst possible scenario. So I'm not shocked if the Dwight rest schedule is a bit of a nod to that fact.

Does anybody remember last year when we blew-out the Clippers in Houston when we were playing our final game against them with the same starting lineup we are using tonight?

Go back and look at the games this season. The last 2 against the clippers, I see CP flop that gives the Clippers a severe advantage down the stretch. CP knows he can do it at any time because of his size and weight. There's nothing holding his flopping back.

Good job representing your fanbase as a classless clown. Unlike trash like you I would never wish injury on someone.

He obviously is a flopper like Harden but your comments are just disgraceful not to mention hypocritical since Harden is a really bad flopper too. Nowhere did I mention that CP3 was not a flopper. I don't like his flopping either but saying that you want them injured? And people here call OKC fans "classless".

To be fair, CP3 has a rightly deserved reputation as a flopper. However, wishing injury on him was probably crossing the line.

Still, I understand the sentiment. Unfortunately CP3 is going to get superstar calls so it is what it is.

No different than other teams complaining about Harden drawing fouls. They can complain all they want, but Harden gets the calls (regardless of the reason) and they'd rather have him on their team getting those calls than be on the receiving end.

Harden baits and he legitimately gets hit each and every time. Harden's eurostep is skill full enough to draw good contact so don't compare the 2. There are stretches where the Harden's eyes are gouged with no call, slapped, kicked punched. CP gets the call each and every time even if 9/10 were flops.

Harden does legitimately get fouled a lot, even if some of them are "ticky tack".

A better comparison would have been K-mart...

Of course, I'm sure local fans were calling it "veteran savvy" back then... :p

Sad about pats injury but cp3 is an expert about getting people in foul trouble. I was not looking forward to bev playing him. Jeremy v cp3 is a better match up for us, let's hope he can do a reasonable job.

You're outing yourself here as superficial Rockets fan if you think Harden flops anywhere near the level of Chris Paul.

Harden goes to the bucket, gets hacked a majority of the time, and barrels into the sidelines because that's how you stay away from any 280lb centers jumping and landing on you. He doesn't plant on his way down, minimizing his risk for a sprained ankle or acl tear. It's fundamental basketball, the art of falling. A good comparison is Dwyane Wade.

Chris Paul on the other hand sidles up to his opponent at a slow, stealthy pace, and then he just goes down. With or without the ball. It's cheap, it's dirty, and it pisses off just about every NBA player who's not on his team when he does it. I am shocked the NBA has done nothing to address it. There is no NBA comparison for anyone who can pull off similar antics. The previous guys in the NBA who had a dirty rap--guys like Stockton and Vlade Divac--they did little things like hold you when the ref was unable to see it. Most veterans these days have adapted these tricks of the trade. Nobody other Paul collapses like a narcoleptic dog.
