Not hating on neither player. I just think Nash was the one who lead the Suns for the win.

See this is just plain Stupid. the Clippers made there comeback due to our stupidity. we kept Putting Single coverage on Brand when he got hot. i say double him and let somebody else beat us. the chances were that there was nooneelse there that could beat us. how anyone can blame yao who is tying to get match fitness under he's belt is beyond.

exactly! i really don't understand why jvg didn't double brand after seeing him hot. let yao guarding him was a missmatch, brand is so much quicker than yao. jvg should have known that.

another thing puzzles me was the last timeout, the one after luther's big trey. i remember they showed on tv before that that clippers had used all of their timeouts and rockets had one 20 sec left. so in that case, it has to be the rockets who called the timeout. then my question is, why the hell you want to call a timeout with seconds left on the game clock while you are ahead? so that the other team can set up an offense, and starts from the mid-court?

    From espn:

0:12 105-107 Luther Head makes 23-foot three point jumper (Tracy McGrady assists)
    0:12 Los Angeles full timeout
0:12 105-107 Shane Battier enters the game for Luther Head

they must have been wrong when they said LA had used all their timeouts.

This game was a perfect reason why JVG keeps his starters in throughout the games even during potential blowouts. We have a problem finishing strong and this was just more proof. This game should have been done after the 1st Q. The Rockets need to learn to stay aggressive even when up big, early in the game.

And to everyone who says the Rockets should have doubled Brand, I disagree. Brand is a smart player, he'll find the open man cutting towards the goal or open for a jumper. Clippers had momentum on their side, an open shot would have scored. If it wasn't for single coverage, Yao would have never got that final deflection to seal the game.

it was likely wrong. only the offensive team can call a timeout.

Yea, but if the timeout is called after a score and before the ball is brought in into play can't either team call a timeout?

Just saying because I wouldn't put it past Gundy. The guy has no clue how to correctly use timeouts or to manage a game. I've seen him call timeouts when we're rolling on all cylinders, totally halting our momentum, and i've seen him sit on his hands and do nothing when the other team starts to roll over us.

That was definitely an LA timeout. Lets get our facts straight before we go on another rant b****ing about Van Gundy.

PS - I was really impressed in the Suns-Mavs game about the confidence both teams' stars had to simply run the ball right back and score in the closing seconds without calling timeouts. Its a nice style to watch. Of course, when you are so far ahead of the pack, you can afford to be confident and impulsive, so its not a fair comparison.

I am not sure what you are talking about. 6'3'' is pretty good size for a pg, too short for a sg. You have to do something special, like have a big pg like snow to play with a short sg like ai. alson/head is a bad backcourt for most nights.

I made it clear in my post that I did not know who called the timeout, I did not even get to watch the game. But I believe either team can call a timeout before the ball is brought in.

Van Gundy is horrible when it comes to managing timeouts though so I would not put it past him to do something like that. I'm sorry you don't like to be reminded that our team's coach sucks.

The players I listed are "tweeners," shooting guards stuck in a point guard's body. They are naturally shooting guards, but because of their height, they had to learn to play the point, as Luther is trying to do. I never suggested playing Alston and Head at the same time. Sometimes it's necessary, but not all the time.
