Clipper lost last 6 games. The team has some serious issues. But Clipper is a team that can win anyone, so hard to predict. Based on rockets just win, clipper lose 6, i think clipper may swallow another loss.

I think tracy is listed to be out of this game as well.

if we dont win tonight last nights game is meaningless. it doesnt say anything about your team when you beat teams better than you and then lose to teams you should beat. outside of yao this team has been consistently inconsistent.
the rowdies will bring it, hopefully so will the rockets.

    rockets 97 clippers 92

sam i am is going to be playing hopefully he doesnt show rafer the ropes too bad

If we keep the turn over numbers down, we will get a win.

let me fix it for you:

I think it's time to start Bonzi Wells instead of LUTHER HEAD.

we terribly need Chucky starting because Clippers are a big team and he needs to help Yao with Brand/Caveman (oh, wait, he is not a caveman anymore :D )

Head gives up about 4 inches to Mobley, we've seen last time that they took advantage of that mismatch and they posted him up. with Bonzi in, the mismatch will shift to our favor because Bonzi is strong (and fat) enough to defend the post-up game and he is really a great defender. this will also give us the advantage offensively because they have no answer for Bonzi on the post.

anybody knows if Cassell is playing tonight? if he is, I will be looking forward to seeing Vspan get some minutes. he is the only one that can stop Sam-I-am and he can really slow down the Clippers because Sam is the Clippers "engine".

one more thing, I want to see Battier help out Yao and Chuck down low in defending Brand. the guy goes Bill Russell on us everytime we play the Clips.

hopefully we can pull it out and get a little streak going for us because it seems Tmac is almost there. I wont be surprised if he gets some minutes tonight despite the fact that he is "doubtful"

Let's hope Yao Ming & his team mates continue to own the LA Clippers on our own soil

    • The Clippers on their worst skid of the season: 6 consecutive losses. Let it be extended to 7.
    • The Clippers has a bad 1 ~ 9 away record. Let's make it 1 ~ 10.
    • The Rockets owned them 25 ~ 5 in their past 30 encounters in Houston....Let that good tradition continue
    • The Rockets just broke loose of their jinx of 9-year/17 losing streak at San Antonio by an emphatic whooping win over the mighty San Antonio Spurs by sheer teamwork. Let's show the world that it was no fluke and not an one-off.
    • Yao Ming played only 26 minutes in San Antonio. His foul troubles there now appeared to be a blessing in disguise. Big Yao, show that Caveman who is the best and most dominant centre in the league now.
So GO GO GO Big Yao & Co, prove that you guys could kick some @$$es and win back-to-backs handsomely !!!

    Yao will do his thing.

Maggette is a strong post player, we won't be able to post him up easily.

What we need to do is play Battier with Wells a lot, and have them both post up their man repeatedly. Basically, take advantage of the weaker swingman on the Clippers, probably Mobley.

I would also like to see us use Battier at the 4 as Brand is not the tallest guy in the world. Battier will have some success there.

    Yao
    Battier
    Bonzi
    Head
    Alston

That would be a good squad. Head, Battier and to a lesser degree Alston will create space for Wells and Yao to post up. If they're double-teamed, kick it out.

We need to continue with some decent bench play though for sure.

We need to play a good, not great, game to win this one. It's the kind of game the Rockets lose - expected to win, everything is in their favor.

But I think they may have turned a corner. The confidence from beating the Spurs will help.

    Rockets 94
    Clippers 91

We can't beat the spurs then lose to the clippers. They just got demolished by the mavs last night.

I hope the Rockets do not have let down after a big win last night. Rockets should win and get going on a winning streak.

I'd be real disappointed in this team if we blow this one...something to do with what JVG referred to as "mental toughness". We should win hands down.

He played last night against the mavs for 9 minutes.
