And all this time I thought Shane was our go to Franchise player...

offense, he couldn't hit a wide open 3 to save his life tonight, and that needs to change because we gonna depend on him and others to hit open looks when Yao and TMac are back

defense, I thought he played his usual good D with a couple of charges, Pierce just hit a tough fade away 3 with Shane's hand in his face, what else did you want Shane to do

I disagree. Marion can score from anywhere. And after him you still have Barbosa, Bell, Diaw, and Thomas. They can all light it up. In Dallas, you would still have Stackhouse, Terry, and Devin Harris and all the bigs. The Spurs would not only have Manu but Barry, Finley, Horry, and Udrih, shooters all.

WOW. I'm still in shock. I seriously thought we had this one in the bag, even if we were shooting 30%. I guess my theory holds up: every time Luther doesn't make at least one 3, we lose. This game is the 6th time he hasn't made a 3, and we've lost all 6 games. I don't understand why Rafer didn't even attempt to penetrate like he usually does, albeit unsuccessfully, but at least he tries. Tonight, there was nothing inside the paint except for Bonzi. Meanwhile, the Mavericks and Spurs continue on their winning steaks, and we're dropping every other game to sub-.500 teams. Like I said, WOW.

Well, if this were to continue over the next 5-10 games, then yes I'd agree with putting in the benchwarmers. At the very least to send a message to the rotation guys who maybe are starting to believe a little too much of their own press.

Hopefully it never comes to that. Within 10 days, T-Mac and Yao should be back on the floor and this loss I pray will not cost the Rockets down the stretch.

Which is exactly why we absolutely need Bonzi for the playoffs. Until we find another consistent offensive option, he is the only one outside of Tmac and Yao who has the talent to help us cause mismatches on the offensive end. When the three's aren't falling, it's invaluable to have a guy who will take it to the rim.

Who was JVG referring to with the "well coached" comment.

    :(

That has to be close to a record for worst combined FG and 3 points percentage for 3 players combined. I'm glad probably no one keeps that stat.

JVG can't just reinvent the roster just because our core rotation players are sucking...you ride with the horses that you've been playing all year...

you guys think pulling friggin magic rabbit (ie. VSpan) out of a hat is the solution to every loss...our team is what it is...

hell I would have liked to see VSpan at some point of this game to see what he could have done...but I'm not r****dED enough to make a knee jerk statement to say "Man VSpan could have made a difference tonight..."

so let's just establish the "Proven Fact" that every loss we've had could have been prevented if only we played the Euro Mac  or JL3 if you're really demented

frontcourt did ok, backcourt not pulling their weight, as it has been for the past few seasons.

yea even if we match up well w/ utah, homecourt is HUGE.

TMAC and houston need to recognize this. if he can play 4-5 mins, play. who the hell cares? we really need home court b/c most of our role players aren't great road players. we don't have to care about tmac/yao.

We're going to have to win on the road if we want any shot of getting to the WCF. Why not start in the first round?

This Rocket's team with Tracy and Yao on the floor is much better than Utah's team. I don't care if they have the home court, we should still take that series if we're healthy.

Sigh... Ok let's say V-Span DOES play. He penetrates and dishes for a brick. Once the defense knows that the Rockets are shooting 7% from 3pt land the defense will start collapsing the paint. Penetrator shut down. V-Span can't shoot, making him useless in the game.

A lot of the bricks were contested, not so many wide open shots tonight....put in JL3 then...someone who is going to be aggressive going to the basket.....

Tonight was the ole DIT offense with Bonzi and when the Celts shut that down, the rest of the team stood around like deer in the headlights.

As far as I know only one team in NBA history has won a championship without homecourt in any round.

Granted it was the Rockets in their 2nd of back to backs, but I don't like those odds.
