Doubt it. If Les and Morey were serious about salvaging this season, they would've canned his ass the moment the Dallas game was over. But I'll bet they stick it out at least til the end of November and its soft schedule and hope in vain that he turns it around.

As for tonight, I ain't holding my breath. They got whooped by the Nets at home last week and the Celtics are a much better team.

I see no way he could be worse than Corey right now.

I really don't know how to feel tonight. Obviously I'm hoping for a sense of urgency. However, if they come out tonight and give it there all.... Then I'll be ticked off that it took all these losses just to get the team motivation.

Your dang motivation should have been winning a championship. Did the players not understand that we were 1 game away from being the 6th seed last year? Every game counts. So give it your all each and every game, or this team will be a disaster.

Celts play the team defense strategy similar to spurs and gsw. Apparently Marcus smart is leading the way

    Nice write-up, repped.

We should definitely exploit their frontcourt weakness with Howard and Jones which should hopefully free up Ariza to help more with wing defense.

    Thanks.

It's not like the Celtics lack of defensive interior is a secret. The problem is, it's not always easy to exploit. Partially that's because their wing defenders make passing inside difficult. They force a lot of turnovers and tip a lot of passes. Partially it's because their defense is so unconventional, it's hard to scheme for in a short time during the regular season. If you start trying to do something offensively that you don't usually do, it can take you out of rhythm.

The other thing is though Sullinger doesn't block shots, he's big bodied and hard to move down low. Amir Johnson defends pretty well. Olynyk seems like he's not a defender at all but, he has quick hands, and even though he doesn't look like it, there's this from a few games ago:

    "Kelly Olynyk . . . Defensive Juggernaut?
What are some names that come to mind when you think of the best defensive players in the NBA? Dwight Howard? Kawhi Leonard? Kelly Olynyk? That last name may come as a bit of a surprise, since the Boston Celtics forward is probably best known for pulling Kevin Love's arm out of its socket in last year's playoffs. But in five games this season, Olynyk is No. 1 in the NBA in defensive rating, which is the points allowed per 100 possessions by a team when said player is on the court.

With Olynyk on the court, the Celtics are giving up just 72.9 points per 100 possessions, lowest in the league by a wide margin. Raul Neto, a guard for the Utah Jazz, is second at 79.6. To be fair, Olynyk is playing only 17 minutes a game off the bench, so the sample size is admittedly small. But in the five games he's played, Olynyk has anchored a stiff defensive effort for the Celtics while he's on the court."

It makes no sense when you watch him play, and it's probably an early season statistical fluke, but there it is.

I got a Stubhub e-mail this morning saying there were tickets available up until tipoff tonight. Yeah, no kidding.

I'm close to not giving a sh-t anymore. I've got books to read, movies and TV shows to watch, Star Wars Battlefront to play(starting tomorrow anyway). I think I watched at least part of every single game last season. But if they keep playing like they don't even wanna be there, that attitude is gonna infect the fanbase and you'll see a lot of half empty arenas pretty soon.

Should I pick up Smart in a 12-man 9-cat league?

I just can't go there. I care. I'll continue watching, and caring, until I'm carted off the a mental hospital, something that might end up happening if this team's apparent mental lethargy continues.
