And don't you ever UNDERESTIMATE that.... Cam brings energy but he is NOT sharing the ball. the good news is when he is going off, you will excuse his selfishness..and then you have nights like tonight.

I don't know why you guys can't understand that no one in this draft was 3rd pick worthy. It is shoring up as one of the worst drafts in NBA history. If you said Sheppard was not worthy of a tenth pick you would be more accurate. The Rockets were trying to trade out of the draft altogether and couldn't get anyone to bite. In most drafts, teams would be lining up for the 3rd pick. The Rockets just took the guy that they thought was the best equipped to give them the skillset they are desparately short of.

 

What draft pick you think Sheppard is playing as now?

 

Reeds calling card has been SHOOTING....that has abandoned him so far. JMO but, despite being disappointing so far, it is way too early to talk about being a bust. Either send him to G League or play him some real minutes and see what you have.

 

That is why I wanted to trade that pick....(could get two later picks for 1).....there are more ways to take advantage of picking 3rd.

Nobody would have a problem if Sheppard was the 11th pick or something, even if he busts, he is only the 11th pick......you could feel better about it.

I think in retrospect, trading for Edey, Clingan or any other big would have been alright because you had the time to wait for them.

 

2nd rounder. He needs to go to RGV and get his confidence. His inability to contribute this year is not news to me. I predicted before the season as did many rational fans. None of these guys draft position means diddly s**t to me. Soon as they are drafted they should be put in the pool of players to earn minutes on their team. Any fool should have known that Reed was going to struggle to get minutes in his rookie year.

 

I wanted them to trade out of the draft altogether and so did they. Having 2 picks in that same draft wouldn't have done anything for us. Maybe Reed can re-learn how to shoot and become a decent bench player. I guess 2 picks might have improved your chances of finding a decent bench player.

 

He was voted most likely to win ROY by the NBA GMs.

 

I edited it in.....they should have taken a big and let him develop, that would be more secure.

Because that would have meant that it is surely a long term project, a sure known thing.

At least get a Clint Capela or better out of it. Another trade asset.

I would say that this draft doesn't have that generation talent or a superstar guy. But there's alot of good role/key players.

 

Key players? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. We won't really know for a couple of years. I just can't remember a draft with this amount of mediocre rookies especially at the top of the draft.

What does shorthanded have to do with Sengun getting exposed on defense?

i dont know if it was the defense. Sengun couldn't score on Kornet which lost us the game.

Before this game I was so keen to see how the Rockets measured up against the champs and now that I see the answer, I don't like it.
