So you believe that placing Jalen in the corners is the solution but at the same time you think Jalen is not a C&S player. You do know that teams place their C&S players on the corners, right?

In this case, Jalen is the corner boi because nothing else works much for him.

His go to move is to jack up shots.

I agree, Tari has an elite skill, that is his Offensive rebounding.......he is also a disruptor on defense.

His Offense can develop to be better than Green's Defense.

Idiot I said he’s not a catch and shoot player in the position they are playing him - I clearly said that in my original post… now if you can’t comprehend I suggest you get a good nights rest and try again in the AM

At least that terrible shot hit the rim!

Unlike another one of his terrible shots where he ignored Sengun in winning time only to shoot a bad 3, that sailed over the rim and hit the other side of the backboard.

Dude should be locked up behind bars for the daylight robbery he commits every single day. He should be getting paid the WNBA minimum salary, even then there'd still be the argument that he's grossly overpaid.

Rim? I don't think it hit that. Looks like it hit the lower left side of the backboard.

    He's at least 6'10, 6'11 in shoes.

One of the worst decisions of Ime Udoker, the times when Silas thought Nix was a playmaker....just a fat SG

I thought Jalen had an okay game. It was still pretty frustrating, but it wasn't horrible. The mental mistakes are still very apparent. The defensive effort isnt there as much as you'd like. The bigger problem is that he's not a better shooter than Amen Thompson right now, and that's a pretty fatal flaw for your starting 2 guard to have. He's simply got to hit his shots, or at least get to the line more. I know he's better than this. Hopefully he gets a breakout game soon because this team isn't going anywhere if he doesn't put it together at some point.

I'm interested to know why you thought he had an okay game.

Because offensively he wasn't good. He should have a handful of shot attempts change from missed shots to turnovers with how bad his decision making is.

Defensively was an absolute bloodbath. I actually had been pausing the game, going to my notes app and typing out things that happened where he was abused, but quickly stopped because it was rapidly getting to be a wall of text.

His man getting multiple offensive rebounds for second chance opportunities, his constant mishaps defensively switching when others don't or not switching when others do, or the hilarious one where he followed the guy with the ball late in the second quarter along the sideline - even though Brooks was right on him - and Jalen completely disregarded the man he'd been matched up with that possession in Porzingis and then incredulously the guy passes it back to Porzingis because he can't believe Jalen Green is following him - bang wide open 3, to the few times he scored but then didn't get back into position and his man drained multiple 3s immediately.

I didn't even touch on just how many times his man went right by him without even trying to break him down, because they never need to. I would hate to think how many points the Celtics scored tonight as a result of Jalen Green mistakes.

I know Jalen's play over 2.5 seasons to this point has set the bar barely off the ground for him in terms of having a good game, but I'm curious as to what he did today to have an okay game.

I didn't say he was good. He was okay. About in the middle range of those who played tonight. He was better than Whitmore, shot better than Brooks, tied for second in assists, tied for the best +/- of all the starters. That's an okay game as far as I'm concerned. Good? No. But I'd say it was okay. He definitely had his problems and obviously needs to play better, but I've seen worse games.

We missed Jabari a lot. It could have been closer in his presence.

Honestly seems like everytime he gets to the line now he misses the free throws. Like what happened to his shot?

I missed the 4th quarter I thought he played alright in the times I watched. Some of his drives he was actually finishing. 1v1 defense was surprisingly good on Tatum and Brown, his rotations and off ball defense are still quite bad at times.

But yeah he should not be allowed to attempt those ridiculous 3's, it's honestly embarrassing.

A third year player was better than a rookie making his very first start.

He shot better than Brooks. A whole 2.5% better....... whilst taking 9 less three pointers than Brooks.

I knew the bar was low for Green. But somehow it keeps being lowered.

If we had committed to boxing out, made our lay-ups and have some awareness (going up against two 7 footers or 3 guys in the paint is just not smart basketball), we win this game. Great effort, but unfortunately our effort wasn't there out of the gate. Body language was terrible at the start. Cam showed why he's not ready and like I said at the beginning of the year, give Nate a shot. Every time he plays, good things happen. He's very solid on defense, quick hands, long arms, got some steals and deflections, forced tough passes and he gets after it. Especially with Tari out, I don't mind seeing him more.

I think the bar has been lowered so much for Jalen that yesterday was considered a good or ok game. The best thing i can say about how he did was that it was just kind of bad instead of horrid.

To put in in perspective Amen scored 1 less point than him on 8 less shots.

Really, Sengun this season is doing better than he should be offensively given that there is NO shooting around him.
