Of course he is not. Whether he gets the ball or not is not up to him. Not the mention that he is playing 1-on-2 or 1-on-3 every night and the rest of the team play 4-on-3 or 4-on-2. It is really convenient to blame Yao for a loss, when SF and his followers cannot beat the opponents 4-on-3.

how can you tell he was really trying? i dont see any of his team mates helping him. I did see them leave him wide open waving his arms in the air helplessly though about 3 times

Yao is a part-time player now. Next time we may see Yao as back-up for Cato. Very interesting.

A pathetic loss after the biggest win of the season. Sound familiar? Meet your Houston Rockets.

It looks like that JVG is losing faith in the big pansy otherwise known as Yao Ming, and we really cant blame him for that. I think that it might be better for the team to bring Yao off the bench. He is not contributing much on the floor and his whole demeanor is just pathetic. I dont think Yao getting dunked on or missing layups help the team in their confidence building. Maybe by benching Yao we could send him a message and he otherwise would not get.

It was simply painful to watch Francis playing "point guard" tonight. He is just not a point guard and it's not something that he can learn. We'll have to move him to the two spot sooner or later.

This team is just mediocre. They may luck out and make the playoffs this year, or they may not. Either way they are just not fun to watch, which is why we saw another half-empty Toyota center tonight.

Not one, but two defenders most of the time. I don't see SF doing anything worthwhile when he is double teamed either.

i was thinking we could play this cool new game where when the rockets are fouled, the refs actually call it. i know that's pretty revolutionary thinking there, but it just might work. turnovers were our biggest enemy, but the refs stepped up and played a close number 2. after steve got that tech, calvin said he has to recognize how the officials are calling the game. the problem is the way they were calling it was boston shoots all the free throws, houston watches boston shoot all the free throws (now watch the box score say it was even).

Yao is by far the best player on this team. They just don't know how to use him and never pass him the ball. I never had an opinion about houston fans one way or the other, but after being here for a while, I see they are not the smartest fans around and would probably rank someone near the bottom. The attendance is a joke and why there isn't an outcry to change this damn too, I'll never know.

yep. even got a facial served to him by one of the all time great leapers, chris mihm. at least a little UT pride was able to surge through me in that most humbling moment.

I have been saying this all year, this team will never win because it's not a good mix of players. They have individual talent but can't put it together as a team. The only constants on this team are Yao Ming and JJ. Those guys will fit in on any team. Francis is not a point guard, he wants the stats and wants to win only if he is THE MAN. Mobley has been better this year but he is also another player that needs the ball in his hand. This team will never be better then avg as long as Francis is playing the point. I think a perfect fit at the point for this team would be some one like Alvin Williams who is a big point guard. One other note, keeping Yao out of the game was the dumbest thing to do in this game. For all those Yao haters, even when he is not effective on offense, HE IS THE DEFENSE for this team. 47% shooting for the celtics for the game. This would be a below avg defensive team without him. He has a huge impact on the game just by being in it, not a stat player. On the other hand, the turnovers and bad defense from the point guard position can only go up without steve "I only play on tv games" francis.

    Xenogears,

What variables are the same? Think about it...

Rudy + Francis = mediocre team
JVG + Francis = mediocre team

What's the common denominator? Not much has changed in 4 1/2 years, huh?

This will always be a 50/50 team. That means half of the time we will be good. The other half we'll suck. As the commentators said, the Rockets have the same record this year at this point as we did last year (20 - 15).

We either need a LOT MORE talent. Or we go in another direction with this team. I expect big trades at the end of the year.

thats stupid, you fault a guy for atleast trying to contest the shot? Its better than the players who just back away and let them score trying to save face
